I think it's more likely that ALB will lose his spot to Goodhue than Crotty.

Very much doubt that the end result would have been different but two ref blunders really changed the pattern of the game.
I would sympathise with any grizzle from a French fan.
However if it was the ABs getting that bad YC I would expect them to deal with it better than France did.Think it was more the ABs deciding to stop being shit.
But the impetus to put the hammer down was the YC. They knew they had to take advantage.

Apart from a couple of early handling errors ALB has been very good in his lines, linking and distribution. Almost Conrad Smith like. Can see no reason other than experimentation to change him out.
