Finished The Terror.
Was decent enough, although last couple of eps did start to drag a bit.
GIven it is based on a true story of the Ship, The Terror that went missing (ep 1) but after that the rest is largely made up with the odd snippets I guess form log books.
:::
The 'monster' obviously made up, they shoulda just made it a Polar Bear, and showed it less, as the CGI didnt look that great

Handmaids Tale is hard slog!
Is well written and acted, but man it is dreary, am still a couple of eps behind.

Mrs Hooroo loves that show. I hate it.

I really enjoyed the first season but for whatever reason the 2nd became absolutely dreary as fuck

I don't like it due to it being so wrong. (In terms of the wrong thing to do, not being incorrect)
-
@hooroo I know what you mean, some of the subject matter is mental.
LIke in S1 when the husband is trying to get the Handmaid pregnant and the wife sits there like its her getting it, just so they are all part of the process...creepy and wrong.
For those watching I'll add a spoiler
:::
In the latest ep I watched the main guys Driver/guard guy marries a 15 year old and has to consumate the marriage.

Enjoyed Season 1 of Harrow, starring Ioan Gruffudd.
Essentially a non-fantastical version of 'Forever' but set in Australia.
Forever was a really good show. Another to be axed after only one season.
My viewing last night was S3 Ep9 of The Expanse and a start on S3 of Into The Badlands.
-
@bovidae I'm upto date with The Expanse, yet to start Into The Badlands.
Soo, latest ep of Westworld...I liked it, but not sure what to make in the overall scheme of things
:::
Did think it was a bit odd that Ake? was able to just jump on an escalator so easily without even hesitating? Although I guess he may have used it before without realizing?

Was great episode tho, get a better look at the valley beyond.
One thing that stands out in this series is the music, loved the piano version of Nirvanas ‘Heart shaped box’ ( was used on a trailer before the season started too)
Next week being ep 9 should be the big one -

@virgil thanks for that, I couldn't for the life of me think of the name of that song!!

I watched the last episode of S2 of Into The Badlands first to remind myself how it ended before starting S3. I might be able to watch a few more tonight after Billions.
As to Westworld.
:::
Last night's episode answered some of the questions about Ghost Nation and how the hosts are affected when they are awake for so long. This appears to be a polarising episode as many think it was the best of the season while others didn't like the slow pace and subtitles. Sure you had to suspend belief on how easily Akecheta navigated through HQ but if you read/listen carefully he reveals what will happen later. And the big reveal at the end...

Not a Nirvana fan but I recognised that song straight away. The music has been fantastic in this series with all the different versions of Paint It Black and other tunes used.
He’s a brilliant composer, does Game of Thrones as well.
Show us startin to set up Delores as the baddie -
@bovidae Without spoiling it for those yet to watch ep eight, I thought it went a long way to explaining everything.
:::
No updates/ wipes makes sense for the hosts developing memories when Hannibal Lector explains he developed them to be inquisitive.

I agree. It was a backstory that is integral to understanding the whole Westworld plot.

One episode into Siren.
Small town in the US has a few mermaid sightings. Looks pretty promising so far and is about the only recent show that the mrs and I both enjoy.
Rena Owen is in it playing ( I'm assuming ) a native American or Eskimo with a kiwi as accent. I half expect her to tell everyone to cook their own fucken eggs any second. It also stars a chick who got her gears off in GOT. Google Eline Powell and add the word 'nude'.
You're welcome.

I don't get the appeal of mermaids. Sure, they have the funbags out all the time but all those scales from the waist down remove any sexual fantasy.
Will have a gawk though (I trust Rena stays covered?)

You may just change your mind after months at sea.
