@no-quarter said in Alternative needed from the absolute crap of stuff.co.nz:

The latest from the outrage brigade. And I know these articles are par for the course these days to get clicks, but there's a couple of quotes, one after the other, that show the sheer stupidity of Susan Devoy and really highlights how pointless her role is:

"Most people in New Zealand are quite nice and friendly but some people in New Zealand don't like Chinese and they say something quite rude to us."

Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy said the incident showed casual racism was, unfortunately, part of everyday life for many New Zealanders.

So you've got the Chinese woman stating that most NZers are not racist, and Devoy's take on that is racism is a part of everyday life for her.

The sooner that ridiculous role is disbandonded the better.

    http://nzh.tw/12071634

Apart from commenting and being perpetually outraged what does her job actually entail?

A win for salty of sea dogs across the country. It's ok to be a pervert but don't be caught whipping the head off it while reviewing the photos.

This should please the saltier ferners.....

@hooroo Good. The idea that you can't take photos in a public place is an absurd affront to democracy.

Hes pretty much the poster child for the demographic that buys practical photography magazine . Next time we see him in the news it’ll be short odds it’s because he’s renting out rooms to backpackers and one of them found one of the three dozen or so cameras he hid in parts of the house they were likely to be naked in.

Old indeed. He actually supports the idea of the bill but objected to it on a point of order in the manner in which the bill was proposed. He has a record for doing this but it's only this one that has ever got any coverage.

Shame really as I thought that we might have one honest pervert in Parliament but no.

Try and tell me that Sam Cane or Liam Squire are more powerful than Kel Tremain, Michael Jones or Andy Leslie. Tell me that Karl Tu'inukaufe is more powerful than Kevin Skinner.

    LOL

Hehe. Don't you love ignorant old man rants. πŸ™‚

BTW can anyone shed light on his comment about

the Tuinukuafe 'fracture the skull effort'

    ?

Am wondering if he meant Ofa Tu'ungafasi? Perhaps he's just confused because all those warrior types look the same ... what with all those t's, vowels and apostrophes...

He probably thinks Tuigamala is still playing on the wing.
