I see IMDB is showing a 2nd series for Defiance, but without a start date...

SOA –
glad that BS case against Nero has finally been sorted, it was p!ssing me off! Hope thats the last we see of that DA, she is just annoying, as is Wendy, not sure what the deal with her character is, but seems a waste of space?

Taraâ€s little plan is all falling apart now, she let too many become involved and know what her ultimate plan was so they were able to work it all out, and surely it wont be long before Jax finds out as well, or will he just be blind/ignorant to it?

Must be first ep in a long time Clay didnt appear?

Kinda wonderign what direction things are gonna go from here, there is so much drama and death going on at the moment, seems the more Jax tries to move the Sons away from the illegal sh!t more people die...
-

Something that Sutter does a lot is start up a story arc run it for a bit, then cut it off sharply if he gets bored with it or gets another idea. He plays around with the peripherals to the main story alot.
I do feel that he is trying to line stuff up for the endgame and last season though.

Surely the end needs to involve Jax, Tara, Clay, Gemma and the existence of the club.

Main remaining piece to get sorted is the Irish/ Guns and whether things get to a position where Jax either decides between family and club or creates a solution.

Nero is such a good character he will be around to near the end I think.

My guess. Jax manages to orchestrate the destruction of the gun running to appease his conscience, at the same time removing the Irish, Clay and the black gang that wants Tig while giving the DA a fall guy to get the govt off the club's back .
-

Watched the finale of Dexter, and thought the finale was a bit weak.
I always thought they had the perfect opportunity last season to finish it with him and Hannah buggaring off to Argentina.

Obviously having watched the series from start to finish, there is no way in hell you want Dexter dead, so that was never a finale IMO.

Killing Deb, a bit cliched TBH.

When he dumped her body I thought he was gonna top himself too, but at least they didnt take an even weaker way out.

If they werent gonna let him live happily ever after with Hannah, I dunno why they made him leave at all?

The other option could have been to let him follow Hannah and Harrison, but just watch them and look out for them (which is what I thought they'd do when you saw her and Harrison) but no, they send him to be a logger and looking entirely miserable.

After 8 years of Dexter, I think he deserved some happiness, although I guess they leave it like that so that I can thnk up my own scenario for him?

All good shows must come to an end, but is a shame when they dont get the end right (well in my mind, I guess there will always be plenty that are unhappy with however they finish it.
-

SOA
Not sure where to now for Jax & Tara, I wonder if Jax will just tell her to leave and not come back, leaving the kids with him.

Too many people knew what she was upto, and then faking that attack by Gemma just reinforced it, and then there is the lady that runs the Hospital too.

Interesting to see what happens with the Irish, not sure the club voting on it was the best idea, again, too many people knowing something like that....

Business must be good for that lawyer chick in little old Charming, looked like an Aston Martin she was driving.
-
Read an interview with Sutter after the episode and he points out that if you watch back the whole Tara thing only took a couple of weeks in 'real time' from idea to blowup.

What he is/was trying to show is her desperation not how clever or dumb she is.

I'm guessing Jax will recognise the desperation for what it is.
-
Even so, how does he look past this? Sure love is blind, but that is a big betrayal (despite the fact that he shags about) to get over; wanting a divorce, trying to take his kids away, faking a pregancy, making out Gemma caused the mis-carriage and driving a wedge between them
-

anyone else getting the impression all that is happening at the moment on SOA is basically setting up the big final act? the whole thing has a "holding period" feel to it.

It's funny that a late-comer like Nero is the most sympathetic character in the show.
it's funny, as soon as i saw that little girl watching Jax (before she flipped out) last night i was reminded of the homeless chick from the early episodes. then it turns out she's the mum. i wonder where they are going with that?
-

Someone in the show needs to maintain a moral compass of some sort!
Yeah that whole thing with the girl was a bit odd...maybe just filling time??
-

SOA
here's the interview with Sutter. Talks about the girl as well and why Clay had to go so Otto. http://tvline.com/2013/11/05/tara-faking-pregnancy-sons-of-anarchy-jax-finds-out/
-

Good old Jimmy Smits seems to be the go to guy to bring into late seasons of a show. He certainly reinvigorated The West WIng when he came on as latin Obama in the final two seasons.
-

He's certainly serving a good role in SOA. Being the steady influence from outside the club that can bring things back to reality.

I reckon most of this is lining up nicely. It will have a few tales to tell along the way yet and there are still some loose ends but I think the focus will be what ever Jax has to give up in his search for a clean club and a family. What will the cost be in the end?
-

Sky On Demand here has the box set of The Wire available. I am now hopelessly addicted.

Gave up on Agents of Shield from the first (or second) episode when the badass, tech-savvy villain offers the Shield gal a job purely on the basis that she managed to get into his super-secret cocktail party. No security checks, no aptitude tests - OK, so she's a fox with a great rack, but still ...

Then of course she escapes danger by using the one move her Shield colleague had been trying to teach her all episode. Together they take the baddie down and in true A-team fashion no-one gets hurt.

Also gave up on Blacklist when the super-hot assassin the Feds are chasing is found randomly walking round Central Park. She spots the danger and despite wearing high heels escapes the crack anti-terror team on foot into the subway except for the super-hot Fed protagonist, who manages to catch her despite also wearing high heels. These girls are FAST! They should be in the Olympics! - because none of the fit-as-fuck SWAT boys can get anywhere near them!

How does this shit even get made, let alone written?
-

It's TV bro, not real life ;)

-

So a bit of a TV round up from me.

Homeland: I've always been prepared to cut Homeland a bit of slack because I've always enjoyed the show and Dana Brodie doesn't seem to annoy me as much as she does the rest of the known world, but:
WTF with Carrie yet again ignoring her superiors and nearly stuff up another mission. It's just stupid, and bad writing. She's supposed to be this intelligent spy yet she's constantly doing stupid things. I'm almost at the point where I hoped that the bullet hit her in the head and not the shoulder. TBH, I'd much prefer to see the Saul and Quinn show than Saul, Carrie and Brodie show.
Anyone still watching Boardwalk Empire? I've thought it's been an ok season for a show I kind of like but don't love.
I got extremely excited last week when Chalky and Harrow were together and I thought they were going to band together to take down the Dr - a character that annoys me. I'm sick of these 'bad guy' characters that are crafted these days with impeccable manners etc but they're only suppressing their real rage blah blah blah.

I also don't believe that Eli would just roll over like he has, I've thought for the last couple of episodes that he was just playing the FBI guy but it appears he's not.

I guess that has always been one of the failings of Boardwalk Empire for me, how they have characters do stuff that just seems silly ... like when Jimmy just toddled off to his death.
I've also started watching Orange is the New Black (I'm up to episode 5). I'm liking it ok but it's maybe suffering a bit with the hype coming in. I don't really like the lead actress either which makes it a bit harder when the shows about her character. Still, it's a watchable show and I'm happy to keep watching it.
-

Luigi, that "Blacklist" is fucking ridiculous, and i cut it after one episode. I too couldn't get past the fact that the only competant person in the whole FBI was the newbie profiler on her first day. Fuck off.

Homeland
yea, that thing with the bomber was fuuucking stupid. waaaah i want to clear broooodie, waaaah, because i am a fucking nutbar (who got myself knocked up) but for some reason still have security clearance. Quinn is awesome, lets focus on him being a conflicted badass for a while.

at this stage i feel like i am only watching it because i enjoyed the first 2 seasons.
and on the Sons
it is becoming clear Jax is fucked. He can't find a way to get what he wants, they are in too deep.

Jemma Teller is a fluffybunny, and i hope she fucking dies.

I feel sorry for Tara, she is pretty fucked now as well. Saw an interesting interview with her, where she discussed the fans reaction to waht she did, and they all hated on Tara for it, while Jax can pretty much do whatever he wants. It actually frustrates me that Jax can't see he drover her to this.

I have no sympathy for anyone except Nero.
-

Sons
Yeah I really hope Gemma gets her come uppance, but it reminds me of the SImpsons episode where HOmer is a food critic...

Nobody talks to me that way. I'm Homer Simpson, the most powerful food critic in town, who will never get his comeuppance! You hear me? No comeuppance!

Gemma cos she is the writers wife... Nobody talks to me that way. I'm Gemma Tellar, the nastiest b!tch in town, who will never get her comeuppance! You hear me? No comeuppance!

Yeah really feeling for Tara, she has basically fallen into the 'old lady' life and ended up like Gemma, despite her efforts to keep abit of distance and not be like Gemma. Jax needs to grow a pair and sever the umbilical cord.

I wonder if Nero was supposed to be in for this long, but he is carrying things at the moment I reckon.
