He was a legit Luke Lewis or Matt Gillet class of player but because he played for NZ he was never really talked up as a premiere utility foward on this side of the ditch. Respected but not revered like he should have been.
Gillet? Gillet is shit. That's a smear on both Lewis and Mannering.

Yeah c’mon raz, Gillet isn’t good enough to tie the laces Mannering and Lewis. Plus he’s a thug.
Mannering has been one of my favourite players for a long time. He has been Mr Reliable whether at centre or back row. He improved his game to be an effective ball player.
He reminds me of what Abercrombie means to the Breakers and Tall Blacks. Dependable and can pull out a big play when needed.

Although I'm happy the last playoff contender is effectively out of the race, I'm not happy the Sharks have been gifted another win. Seems the NRL is keen on getting Cronulla to the grandfinal this year.
