Eve Mendes has got her gear out heaps. I am sure she is nude in "Training Day" at least.

Eve Mendes is fucking hot.

I thought it was only training day? Pleased to wrong but I don't think she's approaching Windlet levels of nudity. -

Saw the butler the other night, it two women I loathe- Oprah and Jane Fonda , it didn't do much for me to be honest. Wait till it's a $3.50 8 day hire.

Bear in mind that porn is pretty hard to get hold of in Qld away from the internet so I'll say this, I would rather drive to ACT and buy gay porn than spend a whopping $3.50 and THEN watch another Oprah slave/equal rights/morality piece...

Saw Pacific Rim. No story really but fantastic special FX. Great pop corn movie but as I said absolutely no story worth mentioning. A complete lack of character development seems not to have bothered Del Toro either as by the end there is some pretty buddy, buddy schmaltzy shit that you get the feeling we are supposed to get sentimental about but just don't give a shit about the characters enough.

6/10 - not a single good to talk about...

Gran Torino

Watched this movie maybe 5 times since it was released. Still massive.

Wolverine.

So much better than the first spinoff. That isn't hard though. I liked this movie regardless. I hope they make one last one and go all out with a better director. John Favreau would be good.

7/10

The Worlds End

Funny but not Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead funny. Would have been better if they just done a movie about a pub crawl.

7/10

After Earth - daughters choice

Huge stinking pile of pseudo Scientology shit. M Night may not be one of Toms Cruises flock but Will Smith certainly is and this reeks of L.Ron Hubbard's poor excuse for science fiction.

Yes, yes she is!

Why all the hating on Oprah boys?
-

Saw Wolverine and Man of Steel on Sky Box Office recently.

Wolverine I wasn't so keen on for some reason. Maybe it was the ho-hum setting of Japan, complete with immortality-needy-industrialist plot device, plus obligatory yakuza, swords, shinto-schminto and tall, westernised babes. It was all so formulaic, right down to the evil lair and shogun-bot at the end.

Man of Steel I was ready to hate, but it was surprisingly good. Cavill looks the part and the the whole back story is well done. I even liked the time-shifting nature of the plot. The only that shitted me up was the Antarctica scenes where they find the lost scout ship. Lois Lane goes out into the freezing arctic night and sees with her naked eye only what her camera can see in extreme closeup and then wanders off up a frozen mountain into guaranteed death to follow a lone dude down a tunnel? Puhleeease!

Anyway, loved the fight scenes and the alien tech and am reasonably keen to see what they do next.
-

I don't understand how any heterosexual male can not loathe the vile self absorbed cow. Btw she's a behemoth again so I guess she'll be flogging another diet plan soon.

Eva Mendes or Nadine Valasquez, hmmmmmm
-

I believe I am a heterosexual male and don't loathe Oprah and I'm definitely not one to comment on weight issues.

Eva Mendes by a country mile.
-

I've heard of men like you but never thought I'd actually come across one, I'd put your frequency in the population around the same as teachers that vote national or attractive lesbians.Interesting.

Before you make the call on Vasques or Mendes you need to have seen flight.
-

Yep, sequel is confirmed and they are well down the track with development. Rumours about Wonder Woman turning up too, which makes sense as those three are featured in some of the best stories in the comics.

They also want to follow the Marvel lead and get a Justice League movie happening. Can't see them being as successful as all the Marvel movies though, the consistency between Ironman, Captain America, Thor and the The Avengers movies is pretty unique. I'd expect the DC equivalent to follow the mess of the Hulk movies.

Wonder Woman confirmed. When you add in the villain(s) I wonder if they are in danger of crowding out Superman from his own film with Batman, Wonder Woman and they have to do something with Lois in the film as well.

And there are rumours of Nightwing and Flash cameos as well.
-

But, as I said, only if you decide books have to be an exact copy. 6'5" and black/non red haired are pretty big changes either way you think about it IMHO ....

About the only book to movie that I think got the character completely right (in my head) was The Power of One. The Godfather did pretty well too - maybe with the exception of Fredo who's not a complete wuss in the book.

That Man of Steel thing was a crack up, I was thinking many of the same things. I wonder if, with the proliferation of superhero movies recently there is a danger that suspension of disbelief is becoming harder and harder. I'm finding it harder. My interest in superhero movies seems to be waning anyway - I loved the Avengers, but thought Man of Steel was average and haven't even bothered to watch Iron Man 3 yet. Although I'm quite keen to see the new Superman and Batman together movie.
-

That movie sucked though [the schoolboy version of PK was good too.], I actually liked the book though. The ones that came after, meh.
-

Then saw the DVD on sale a few years ago so bought it. One of the worst movies I've ever watched.

I can only imagine how badly the sequel would have stunk if they had decided to film it , I thought they'd have to tone down some of the more graphic aspects of the book for the film but it there wasn't a lot left of the book in the end.
-

Unfortunately, I have to agree. It was a promising beginning too, I really liked the whole alien slant on Superman. But this director is firmly in the more is more camp, looking at his previous films.
-

I liked the movie and the book, but I liked the second book better - until the end, Courtney couldn't write endings. The movie was changed heaps from the book though - but the characterisation was spot on.

I have watched the first 10 minutes of Flight - I assume you mean that part ;), yep, still Mendes, easily.
-

She gets bonus points from me for having a landing strip which was very appropriate for an stewardess. It's a draw for me at the moment.
