26 - 12 to the Tightens at the 60 minute mark...

Warriors increasingly in a fight with the Tigers to see who can be the most casual team to round out the top 8. Luckily the Tigers were also poor this weekend.

Luckily didn't see this game but it sounds similar to the Penrith match - they turned up for a holiday instead of doing some work.

That second half was pathetic. Why does Auckland suck at sports?

A kids lemonade stall is more professional than an Auckland sporting franchise.

Yeah but the Warriors ruined them by sending Kieran Foran over to their salary cap.

Five games left and the Warriors are more clinging to 8th and a play-off game, rather than charging into the Finals as a threat.

They have Dragons, Knights, Bulldogs, Panthers, Raiders

Wests have Knights, Raiders, Dragons, Manly, Rabbitohs

Pretty similar assignments - I'd guess the Warriors need to win two of these to be safe in 8th. One might be enough.

But, reasonable chance after next weekend Wests will be only two points behind. If they're not they're in trouble!

@chris-b 4 of the 5 are winnable. Panthers being the one that I think we'll struggle against.

@act-crusader it all depends on which Warriors side turns up. If it's the one from Brisbane the other week, then they can win all of them. If it's the one from Saturday, they'll be lucky to come 2nd to the Raiders

Warriors to fight the Dragons at WIN Stadium where I think they are WIN-less. Tohu Harris looks to be out with another knee injury too. Bugger.

Something you’d expect to hear of in South American Football - although I suppose it wouldn’t be death threats there - they’d just send the hit man.

Yup, that is fucking ridiculous. The Tongan fans didn't react well after that, but they are far from alone. We've seen the same happening in rugby with coaches and commentators putting way too much heat on the referees.

Both codes need to crack down on it ASAP. Both are very fluid dynamic games with lots of judgement calls to be made. Reffing this stuff is an incredibly tough job, and (from my experience) as a fan it is really easy to get riled up and start blaming the ref for every single little thing. As I've (hopefully) gotten a bit wiser I've chilled out a bit but it's not hard to see how this type of situation arises with all the hyperbole that surrounds every reffing decision.

As fans we've really got two choices: accept refs get things wrong from time to time, or judge things differently, and keep the sport we love as we know it - a high pace, action packed game. Or we go down the other road and demand every single decision is poured over to ensure it is 100% correct and we end up with a product like NFL - 12 minutes of action in a 3 hour match.

I read the (almost same) article on the rival news site, death threats didn't force the referee out. He's retiring because he's sick of the "noise" associated with refereeing. The media whinging, fans whinging, media conspiracies re: refereeing politics in the NRL.

The death threats were the most extreme example of that.

Not that I want to down-play the reaction to that semifinal loss. That was the highest level of sporting stupid I've seen in my sporting sphere.
