@jegga I'm not watching that - have you ever spoken with a medical professional over your tendency to self-harm?

Check out the fat shamer everyone.

Seems to me she says she self triggers five times in 22 seconds .

I hadn't heard of it until this thread. What is it about?

oddly, the movie title tells you what it is about...but is alot of background to why the billboards went up and around them.

Was a good movie, as for suspending belief, I think people take movies far too seriously, isnt that the point of movies/tv (barring doco's or true story ones) a bit of escapism and fiction.

I mean 3 of the top 4 highest grossing movies ever have aliens and super heroes, the other has a real event in it, but the rest is made up...if you add in #5-10 you have Dinosaurs, more super heroes a Wizard and a movie about an FBI guy that helps some boy racers

I agree. When I watch a movie I just let go with that sort of thing. I guess that is why I don't understand why people really pick apaprt movies like star wars etc. I have enjoyed every Star Wars movie at the time I watched it.

What are the 4 top grossing movings?

@taniwharugby For me, it depends on the movie - if it tries to be serious, or even semi serious it's a bit harder to suspend disbelief.

Die Hard is unrealistic as fuck, but it's still pretty grounded - whereas that Die Hardish twattle made with Gerard Butler about the white house tries to be a bit grounded, completely isn't and was almost unwatchable for me. But, people fighting with swords of light and I'm in with a grin.

Yeah that is me as well. It's almost like the rules need to be set and then just be consistent for me to not question it.

Yeah, due to a timing kerfuffle (I was going to Deadpool 2 and it started way earlier than I expected) I saw Skyscraper - now I know going in this wasn't going to be high art, was panned by critics, looked completely unrealistic ... and it was all that, but because I knew all that going in I actually enjoyed the 90 minutes I was in there and didn't mind coughing up the $10 to see it. That was a definite set the rules movie, and the rules were basically anything goes.

Fuck, I've just outed myself as liking Skyscraper. 😨

@nepia you mean the rules were there were no rules (aside from no Aliens or Spaceships - I assume?)

Fair enough, each to thier own.

I think as long as a show/movie is real within its own universe it's ok if that makes sense.

In real life I'm fairly certain Arnie woulda been killed the moment he jumped out of the plane in Commando for example ( this is assuming he survived the car ride and shootout earlier )

The Humanity Bureau! Featuring Nic Cage.

Please take the time to watch this! It is incredibly bad. I’m half way through and can’t stop as I have to see how they end this!

0 radioactive carrots out of 5 undricnkable ice cubes

Sorry to quote myself but please PLEASE watch this movie. I don't want to the only person on this planet that has done so!

I love the scene in fight club on the plane
“ which car company did you say you worked for?”
    “ a major one.....”

And of course the rant about Pandas , because pandas do deserve to be wiped off the face of the planet .

Did a bit of flying and caught up with some movies.

Black Panther - I enjoyed it but glad I was pre-aware that it had been massively overhyped. 3.5 ethno-states out of 5.

3 Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri - Gripping but it seemed a little far fetched which kind of tempered my enjoyment for some reason..you know for a movie that was kinda realistic rather than a straight up fantasy. 3.5 midget dates outta 5.

Avengers (new one..) - Waaaay better than the last Avengers, time seemed to fly by. 4 outta 5 infinity stones.

I also re-watched 'Fight Club' which I hadn't seen in a number of years. I was a little nervous about doing it as a number of older movies haven't lived up to my memories of late. Well I needn't have been. Solid 5 punches in the ear outta 5. Easily my favourite movie of all time.

How did you think 3 billboards was far fetched?

Hard to put my finger on exactly, much of the characters actions just didn't seem likely, found it very difficult to engage my 'suspension of disbelief'. Still enjoyed it though.

I reckon Fight Club is one of THE most overrated movies of our times. It's ok but no more than that.

I can only assume this is a troll. Or a russian bot. No red blooded male would ever make such a statement, even in jest.

Of course. Every red blooded male enjoys watching Meat Loaf with tits.

Ffs you can post a video of a fat chick being triggered but I can't make a little joke about Virgil and his preference for strong female leads.

    Harry Potter is gay.
