I think a trailer is enough for me to decide to not see a film, but I'd not then pass an opinion on the film having only seen the trailer.

Harsh times made in 2005 I think.
I think I might be cool for the first time ever so I'll take that as a win

Shadow Dancer

Brit thriller about an IRA informant. Good story, well executed, engaging. The "smoky" and heavily grained cinematography took the 35mm aesthetic way too far, but that was the only gripe. Good movie. Clive Owen, Andrea Riseborough.

8/10

I'm no big fan of Lord of the Rings - I thought the first was ok, the second was the best and the third went on an hour too long, I haven't seen either Hobbit and doubt I ever will ... but I hope they do well. The more money Jackson makes the better chance he'll film my movie idea about the breakout at Minqar Qaim ... then the only obstacle will be getting my idea to him.

I recently watched Dark Shadows which I thought was hilarious.

Also watched Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Spectacular Now, two coming of age type dramas that we both pretty decent.

Ps: With the way trailers can misrepresent a film I wouldn't pass judgement on a film based on a trailer.

I don't really er, 'rate' her ... she still seems like the little girl from the two Harry Potter films I watched. She was perfectly fine in the movie though.

i finally watched "We Were Soldiers" last night (been meaning to watch it since it came out, but it was just one of those movies that past me by). It's a pretty decent war movie that one. It's all action, and the battle scenes (ok scene) are excellent i thought.

That site is quite good, aside from the silly anti communist stuff ... bit childish really. I've read a bit about Rescorla on Wiki - bit of a war junkie in his early days, did some heroic stuff on 9/11.

He predicted that something like 9/11 would happen, after he got his job at the tower he hired a mate who was a security consultant to look the place over. His mate said it would be very easy for terrorist to park a truck bomb near a column which is exactly what happened. Edit I should have added he made employees of the firm run regular evacuation drill after the truck bomb. He wasn't supposed to be at work when the planes hit he came in on his day off to cover someone else's shift .

I'm cool with the anti communist stuff comrade Nepia, the real question is why aren't you?

I'm not an idiot? 😉 It doesn't add anything to the story aside from suggesting the writer has the IQ to be a panelist on Fox and Friends.

Plus, Marx is boring as tutae to read.

Well comrade you would say that wouldn't you?

The guy who runs the site uses over the top stuff like that gaming references to trick people especially teenagers into learning about things they normally wouldn't give s shit about. I think he has two books out now.

i don't really expect my war movies to be 100% consistent with facts. Facts rarely make for great viewing. As soon as you saw it, you could guess that final charge was a movie moment. Still, it allowed them to have a way to finish the movie, rather than reinforcements coming in, them shipping out, and the battle going for another 300 days.
