Wolf of W all Street: bloody long at 3 hours! But I really enjoyed this, I know we should be despising Jordan, but you can't help but think he is all kinds of awesome in this! Living life to the fullest, sex, drugs, sex, drugs and then a ton more drugs and then some more, even if he cheats on prob the hottest wife he could get?

Plenty of nudity to satisfy your inner M4L.

Acting was very good too, de Caprio was very good, Jonah Hill was great as Jordan's sleazy and depraved sidekick. Based on Jordan's memoirs so maybe he embellished some of it although there were enough people in a lot of the situations to verify what happened. A brief cameo by mcconnaughy too which was good also.

Easily the best movie I have seen recently, with a great story, some laughs and great acting.
loved the scene when he was at the Country Club and they had taken the old drugs...

jordan only spent 22 months in prison, Steve Madden double that, so Jordan musta thrown him under the bus, similar with his mate Donny.

Can't believe he tried it on with Joanna lumley....
True Confessions.

Not a lot of plot development. A lot of mumbling. Not recommended.
Wolf of wall Street. What TR said. Thought the last hour tended to meander a bit but the first two hours were brilliant. I was however awfully concious of being the only one cackling at all sorts of depraved shit at various times.

Yeah it did, but I guess if you were him telling his tale, that part of his life probably wasnt quite as cool :)

One of his sex scenes with his wife, how the feck do they do that, without actually doing anything, cos seriously, I'd find it quite, er hard, in that scenario!

I suggest that when we are having these discussions exact time codes are used to help in our research.

When he purchases it on dvd( there's no way would part with it, so renting is out of the question) I expect that scene and the "come up for a cup of tea" scene to be up for a fair bit of scrutiny.

Escape Plan - has a pretty good cast; Stallone, Arnie, Sam Neill, Jim Calviezel, Vinnie Jones, Fiddy Sent, Vincent D'Onofrio

Simple premise, Stallone is a dude who gets put into a prison to test it's anti-breaking-out-ness. When he gets offered mega money to try and break out of some new secret CIA prison, he jumps at the chance, but all is not what it seems...

Decent enough watch for <2 hours, 6/10

After watching the first few episodes of True Detective, I decided to check out Dallas Buyers Club. Very good flick. Both McConaughey and Jared Leto were fantastic in it, and would be worthy winners of the best actor and supporting actor Oscars. I also recently saw the 2nd Hunger Games which was entertaining, and the Butler, which was preachy and dragged on. Enough that I started skipping through parts.

Thanks for putting that one on my radar Tim.

In addition, I saw bits of the relatively new crime flick Mystery Road (another Aussie thing) the other night. Looks decent.
