Ah well. Disappointing loss, but still a decent match by the Baby Magpies. Counties were too good once they got their running game going but the poor decision making in the first half cost them the game.

I'm not going to blame the loss on the referee, but there were some seriously bad calls in favour of Counties, including multiple forward passes.

For what it's worth, Jonah Lowe earned the three points for the Duane Monkley Medal (MOTM).

One advantage of this tough game today is that we're now better prepared for the battle of the bays. Just wins over easier opponents was never going to be enough, with BOP going well.

Just hope that Ash and Brad are okay and available for the next game. We just can't lose that experience; the second half made that very clear.
