To the uneducated it may even appear to be m4l heaven...

When he purchases it on dvd( there's no way would part with it, so renting is out of the question) I expect that scene and the "come up for a cup of tea" scene to be up for a fair bit of scrutiny. -

Escape Plan - has a pretty good cast; Stallone, Arnie, Sam Neill, Jim Calviezel, Vinnie Jones, Fiddy Sent, Vincent D'Onofrio

Simple premise, Stallone is a dude who gets put into a prison to test it's anti-breaking-out-ness. When he gets offered mega money to try and break out of some new secret CIA prison, he jumps at the chance, but all is not what it seems...

Decent enough watch for <2 hours, 6/10
-

After watching the first few episodes of True Detective, I decided to check out Dallas Buyers Club. Very good flick. Both McConaughey and Jared Leto were fantastic in it, and would be worthy winners of the best actor and supporting actor Oscars. I also recently saw the 2nd Hunger Games which was entertaining, and the Butler, which was preachy and dragged on. Enough that I started skipping through parts.

Thanks for putting that one on my radar Tim.

In addition, I saw bits of the relatively new crime flick Mystery Road (another Aussie thing) the other night. Looks decent.

Last Vegas - was ok, some good laughs but coulda been better.

And will leave another big production in a quandary, he would be well into filming the next Hunger Games film as well( haven't read the books so not sure if he would be needed for both parts as it's being split into 2)
Must be a lot if nervous Hollywood execs out there, Paul Walker just a few months back now PS Hoffman -

They are insured against things like that.
-
I'm sure they are but insurance can't finish filming scenes when the guys gone, must be headache to deal with

Kinda why Lindsay Lohan never gets work anymore -

in those movies it'd be very easy to write him out...

Good actor, although seemed to always play it the same.
-

Bye Phil, you fucking weirdo

On a far lighter note, i watched "White House Down" on the weekend (Mrs Mariner wanted to watch it for the perv value, Channing Tatum is her Monica Belluci). What a complete load of shit, i was wildly entertained for the duration. As equally as ridiculous as Olympus has Fallen, but in a different way. I think at times it was trying to be a comedy? Anyway, it's dumb and fun, and i highly recommend when you are hungover.
-

Did you laugh at her when he didn't get his shirt off at any point? I did to Mrs TA.

I also had to laugh when the RPG took out the M1 tank - like fucking hell!
-

Set up my new media box over the weekend so sat down for a couple of movies:

9 - wow this was a fucking trip. Bit disturbing with the message of technology gone wrong and earth being a dead planet. But Tim Burton stumped up the money so you know what it is going to be from the start. Good animation, good script.

No tits.

Ultramarines - I was into Warhammer 40K as a younger man and had heard, just before I departed the hobby, that they'd started work on a movie. Disappointing to say the least, especially given the quality of PC games they've produced. This wasn't even cutscene animation quality! Story was OK, but not much made sense in terms of the universe, right from the weaponry through to the armour and tactics. I had to rewind to a teenage me to extract any enjoyment out of it, and hey in the 90s it would have looked good!
