The final looks to be a curtainraiser to the Top 4 Final on the Sunday in Palmy!

@higgins Yes, it crossed my mind as well that that might be the final between the 1st XVs as well. Fingers crossed!

Half time: St Peter's College 3 - 7 Hamilton BHS

Hamilton looked the stronger team in the first half with most of the possession (67%), territory (70%) and opportunities, but - except for one try - St Peter's defence kept them from scoring. From the 23rd minute, St Peter's got a bit more ball, but didn't get close to the Hamilton try line.

Quite a bit of handling errors in this game.

Unfortunately, Hamilton lost its no. 8 after a bad head knock in the 14th minute.

Typical Palmy weather with a strong gusting wind.

With that terrible wind, kicking is a nightmare.

    St Peter's 8 - 7 Hamilton Boys

In year 11, Alaimalo started every game for St Bede’s College who won the UC Championship. Since Alaimalo left, St Bede’s hasn’t made the top four. italicised text

Weird, and misleading. St Bedes made the UC top four this year for a start. If they mean the national top four, I doubt we made that when he was there either as it's been a few years since we dominated the UC, let alone SI.

Hamilton is not a big team and got outmuscled by St Peters in the 2nd half and that resulted in turnovers and handling errors. Losing Keogh early didn't help as he is their main ball-carrier. A better kicking game by St Peters too.

    Congrats St Peters.

Almost a try for CBHS but a good try saving ankle tap from the Napier left wing prevents it.

Half of Napier seems to be in Palmy. Lots of support for NBHS.

The Napier Thompson twins are a pain in the Chch ass.

They should definitely make this year's NZ Schools squad.
