Yes Nepia, watched Rush last night and really enjoyed it, even though I think the rivalry was a little overblown.

The Family: De Niro and Michelle Pfieffer and their 2 kids are in France as part of witness protection. Tommy Lee Jones is their head of protection. I thought it was quite a good movie although it had a weird tone, part comedy, part thriller and part action film.

That sounds pretty cool. Will have to check it out.

If wikipedia is to be believed they actually flatted together and were friends as they came up through the different grades, personally I thought that might have made for an interesting movie .

This Is The End. Rogen, Hill, McBride, etc all playing themselves in LA just as an apocalypse hits. Thought it was fucken hilarious. I had pretty low expectations though.

Keep an eye out for the great scene that includes the line "tears from the end of my dick".

That was hilarious and "dude , I'm a freaking cannibal" and "something happened last night and it wasn't cool" were standout scenes for me too .

Haha, I thought that was very average! But that kind of humour needs 2 things IMO;

1 - to like that kind of humour (I do usually)

2 - be in the right mood (probably wasnt....)

All is lost - cant recall the entire cast for the movie, oh wait I can, it was Robert Redford, and if I thought long enough, I could probably remember the entire dialogue from the movie!

For some reason I thought it was based on a true story...anywhoo, Robert Redford on a sail boat in the middle of the Indian Ocean and his boat is hit by a floating container.

Seems to me alot of the story is based on some dumb decisions by the main character (Redford)

It was surprisngly decent though!

I thought they blew McBride, they just let him be his usual 'character' where I reckon they could have got great mileage out of him being straight laced.

I thought 'This is the End' was a great example of a film that had a good concept and a pretty decent ending, but just got lost for about 45 minutes in the middle. First 15 minutes is hilarious though.

I quite liked him being the social reject who thought he was popular and then found he wasn't which probably led to him being the head of that gang .

That was pretty brave of Channing Tatum too, did not expect that ,

Which to me is every Danny McBride role. I definitely think my idea is the best ... if only they'd have consulted me first. ;)

Tatum seems like a good bloke, I think he was heading for a Paul Walker style career/rating of his acting but then he met Sodenbergh and it seems he's more Clooney/Damon than Walker.

I didn't know McBride was in it, but when his 'entrance' started I said to the missus that I hoped it was him. I thought he was brilliant in his usual role.

Homefront - Jason Statham, James Franco, a rough Katie Boswell and winona Ryder. Statham is an ex DEA agent who has gone into hiding after being undercover in a MC gang. Starts a bit slow but otherwise what i expected and a decent watch.

Hunger Games 2 - enjoyed it more than #1 and even looking forward to the next one

Amazing invention, but how can you identify woodwork teachers at school if not through counting their fingers (8 or less)?

It munts the machine a fair bit when you do end up with your finger in the blade and it clamps everything up. You'd think they'd be way more popular than they are though.

Is this on the right thread btw?

I didnt think Redford did that much wrong actually. Found it a pretty good exposition on man's determination to survive. Obviously they had to take dramatic licences otherwise it would have been a 2 minute film.

Yacht hits container EPIRB is activated Yachtie is rescued tout fucking sweet isn't much of a narrative after all. Other than that having been in a couple of big blows I found it a bit too close to the bone.

End was a fucking cop out though. Old guy battles pointlessly to live one week would have been much more satisfying.
