What was the verdict on here around Justice League?

I love it. Just watched it again last night and it made me realise why I love these DC and Marval movies and am no longer fussed on the rubbish star wars is producing (in my mind) is that it's unrealistic but relatable.

I like what's his face as Batman too.

I liked Justice League as a popcorn movie but I've never wanted to watch it again and actively despise Man of Steel and thought the best thing about Batman v Superman was the dream sequences. I'm not a fan of Zac Snyder so that likely plays a big part in it - and I expect the parts of justice League I really liked were Josh Whedon's contribution. I did like Batfleck but Cavill is wooden as fuck as Superman despite being pretty good in everything else he does.

Wonder Woman was really good, I didn't hate on Suicide Squad like everybody else did, and am kind of looking forward to Aquaman.

I wish that they would make a really good DC movie up to the standards of the best Marvel movies though, but only Wonder Woman has got close and that could be 95% due to Gal Gadot being hot.

on a slightly different tangent. It amazes me just now many similar movies Hollywood is able to churn out.

Every day at the gym, one or two screens will be on Ch7, and they always have a midday TV movie. And there just seems to be a never ending stream of movies that are all about a young woman in trouble.

Is she escaping an abusive partner?
    Is she being stalked?
Is she trying to find her sister who has gone missing?
Is the seemingly helpful friend really a nice guy? Or did he kill your sister?

It's sort of got to the point where i try and suss out the storyline just from the pictures, then get back to the office, check IMDB, and see how close i got.

Just how many of these bloody movies have been made?

    Small Town Crime
    Really enjoyed it

Same here , the main character has been really good in everything I’ve seen him in

    Yep.

First saw him in From Dusk Til Dawn

He was great in Eastbound and Down.

Just had a look at his imdb profile, he was the postie in Everest too, he might be my new favourite “ that guy” actor now.
Sorry Garret Dillahunt , you had a good run .

Boo! Although John Hawkes, who I assume you're referring to is really good too. They were both in Deadwood together.

Don't forget the action movie where the jaded ex hero has to come out of retirement for one last job.

Liam Newson, John Travolta and Bruce Willis would be unemployed if they weren't churning that shit out.

Liam Newson must be the highest paid actor anywhere in any universe.

And, to move in another direction again, i watched True Lies again last night. Awesome. #3 on my favourite Arnie movies list.

It's a funny piss take. It has hot women (Tia Carrere and JLC fighting in the limo is all crotch shots and cleavage). Great action sequences. A fight on a goddam Jump Jet. Great stuff. A wildly entertaining movie.

She played the bass in Wayne's World too. If that's not a perfect woman then I don't know what is.

I hate all the modern Star Wars movies. That being said, I actually enjoyed Solo. So if like me you think there's been nothing good in this space for decades, give Disney a chance with this. It has Ron Howard as director, so it's already on the winning track.
