People used to mispronounce my names all the time while growing up. I corrected them and then moved on with the rest of my life.

My boys have Nordic names that are often mispronounced. Again, I correct them and move on to more important matters. Also happened to my Norwegian wife on countless occasions. Yet, miraculously she came through it all unscathed.

I've got a surname that people think they know how to spell but ALWAYS fuck it up the first time.

I don't have a farm or a chain of burger joints

Come on, you have to admit, "Sonjohnkoksoong" is a bit of a minefield.

        It's spelt 'creamofsumyoungguy'

My wife has a double barreled first name and it's amazing how few people know what a "hyphen" is when she tries to spell it out.

My wife reverted to her maiden name because a hyphen appeared too difficult for people.

I must admit I find it equal parts amusing and irritating when I have to phonetically spell one of the most common names in English speaking countries to someone called Nahasapeemapetilon.

I am going to start a petition to the NZRU that the ABs play every week. When they don't this place goes to shit.

Having said that no one gets my name right - spelt / spelled or pronounced.

Is the o silent? I can see how that would be difficult.

A friend of mine's wife had to do the same thing recently, except in her case it wasn't the hyphen that was too difficult - it was him!

I remember this guy having a sensational game against Australia a few years ago, and then disappearing from the scene. He has been recalled for the AB test.

I hope he goes well, sounds like he's had an awful last few years.
