I saw this at the cinema when it was released. Still a fantastic movie with a great cast, storytelling and dialogue but could have been a little shorter. I need to watch "Infernal Affairs" to compare.
The only movie with Matt Damon playing rugby I'll ever watch.

I love that film, watched it again a few weeks back. Internal affairs is good, too. I want to watch the Raid to compare it to Dredd.

The Raid is great, similar story but completely different movie to Dredd though. I actually think I prefer some of the fights in The Raid 2 over the original.
It's been a while since I saw Infernal Affairs but it's a great movie, I was a bit worried when they announced Scorcese was doing an English language version but they got The Departed pretty spot on. One thing I think they fluffed a bit with it though was:

The timeline seemed a bit short for Leo to be in the mob, in Infernal Affairs they stretch it out so he actually spends a long time working his way up.

She's in her 50s now, so not quite the young woman in Malena, but I'd definitely go there.

Overall, this outing is kind of a mailed-in piece of shit. Virtually no flash spy gizmos from Q or M or whoever the old git was. They just drive around a very tinpot-looking fledgling downtown Las Vegas for a bit then later on dick around on an oil rig then the fluffybunny ends.
The #metoo crowd would chunder in their granny gruds at the zeitgeist or oeuvre or whatever of this carry-on. Basically Connery tries to fuck every single spunk the instant she appears on screen. And they're all spunks. cue Scottish brogue, "What other purpose do they have Moneypenny?"
Wasn't his last. Never Say Never Again in 1983. He banged Kim Bassenger in that one! Looked like a grandad though. Ridiculous.
Actually if we're going to complain about misogyny in Bond flicks, check out You only live Twice. Holy shit.
DAF is definitely down there with the absolute worst of the Bonds. He wore a short pink tie for half the flick and as you say he looked ancient, like he'd aged 20 years since Dr No.
Wint and Kidd had some good lines.
The plot was incomprehensible.
Roger Moore was a great Bond as well though.

He didn't rip off anything, he came up with some of the key movie Bondisms on the early films, so owned them.

Never say never again was pretty good on its own merits. Connery did look a tiny bit creepy hitting on Kim Basinger and Barbara Carrera was a perfect mix of HAF and Batshit crazy. I liked it but then I liked Thunderball as well. Weird that he made the same movie twice.

Yep, old mate Pat Roach who also gave Indiana Jones a hiding in two separate movies as different characters. I always liked his work. Great punch up this one, Bond shoulda done better though.

@rancid-schnitzel Chris Hemsworth is actually pretty good as a comedic actor. I'd argue his entire stretch as Captain Kirk's dad, all 5 mins of it, was closer to winning an Oscar than Keanu's entire career.

Gary Oldman is a freak and I mean that in a good way. He's probably the best most diverse actor I've ever seen.

@kirwan if it were really meaningless Im sure, by now, actors would have stopped attending on principle, but doesnt to have appeared to have happened. I mean I get what you're saying but by that token I guess the IRB player of the year award is meaningless too. So too RTS's Dally M.
