      Turbos:

15 Sam Malcolm, 14 Michael Tagicakibau, 13 Rob Thompson, 12 Hamish Northcott, 11 Junior Laloifi, 10 Otere Black, 9 Jamie Booth, 8 Brice Henderson, 7 Antonio Kiri Kiri, 6 Liam Mitchell, 5 Tom Hughes, 4 Liam Hallam-Eames, 3 Michael Alaalatoa, 2 Sam Stewart, 1 Fraser Armstrong.

Reserves: 16 Gene Syminton, 17 Faalelei Sione, 18 Sean Paranihi, 19 Nic Crosswell, 20 Brad Tucker, 21 Kayne Hammington, 22 Jade Te Rure, 23 James Tofa

This is an updated, reshuffled squad, with Te Rangatira Waitokia ruled out due to a neck injury.

      From the original team naming:

Fullback Junior Laloifi (concussion), first five eighth Jade Te Rure (elbow) and wing Michael Tagicakibau (hamstring) have all been cleared for the match.

Coach Jeremy Cotter has named one of his strongest sides of the season for the week seven Mitre 10 Cup clash.

Props Fraser Armstrong and Michael Alaalatoa return to the starting side, while Tom Hughes has been names at lock to partner Liam Hallam-Eames.

Antonio Kiri Kiri and Brice Henderson return to the starting XV.

Jamie Booth gets another crack at the No 9 jersey with Otere Black retaining the starting duties at first five-eighth.

Hamish Northcott will partner Rob Thompson in the midfield with Tagicakibau and Te Rangatira Waitokia on the wings and Laloifi at fullback.

Te Rure will make his return via the bench.

Tim Cadwallader remains side lined with a calf injury and Sam Wasley is still battling back from his knee injury.

Second five-eighth Ngani Laumape is back training with the Turbos after recovering from the knee injury he picked up while playing for the All Blacks against Argentina.

He is a possibility to be available for the side’s match against Hawke’s Bay, depending on how his knee handles the training load.

14 minutes in and the discipline and defence is still as poor as it was against Waikato. 7 - 0 to Manawatu.

Hard watch wouldn't think the Turbos were the team coming off a short turnaround

The concern is that we’re going into one next week. Handling is a big worry, can’t catch a proverbial cold...

Maybe because we lost nearly all of our lineouts since the reserve hooked came on? Still, would have preferred that over a 50m kick

Even a quick tap or a midfield scrum...

Only because they could beat us with a bonus point and still not have enough points to be above us.

                                  That conversion miss - ouch.

I saw how far the ball landed from the posts, given there were three other options to get closer to the line/posts with ball in hand... even with dubious lineouts! 🙂

Second game in a row that none of the team will remember fondly.

Particularly the goalkicker that hit the upright from directly in front.
