@canefan not really the right thread but related to your post.

TV1 did a piece on electric cars last night comparing the cost of using them vs a petrol car, but failed to show the purchase price comparison which is more relevant.

Plus what happens when NZ is driving electric cars and the govt is getting not petrol tax? Apparently in 3 years RUC will come in on electric cars, I doubt they'll be as low as diesels.
