Yea fuck off mate, i'll let the experts do their thing.

Nothing like the Codys Appreciation Society

    what's a Cody? I thought that was a pre-mix Bourbon?

Is he trying to insinuate that you are a beer philistine? Don't worry, I still drink Corona and Speights along with my Garage project stuff, which is as far as I'll venture into craft beer land 🙂

I had my first Garage project beer the other day and it was bloody awesome, might be something to this craft beer industry.

I like Hapi Daze(?), the one with the red can and car on front is quite good too. Still got time for a dirty mainstream bevvie too though

I must admit to being far less of a beer piston wristed gibbon of late. Even I got sick of the constant, well, wankness of it all. Plus craft beers bloat the fuck out of ya. So definitely a bit of a treat every now and again compared to the past.

Some of Garage Projects beers are nothing short of ridiculous.

I couldn't resist buying a bottle of this. A decent drop for a typical English ale.

    Up the Irons!

Strange thing is that I drink cask ales when at the pub and canned/bottled at home. Never touch bottled ales or draught IPAs etc.
What is good now is that there are “mass produced” beers in the styles made popular by boutique brewers that are actually quite good in both taste and price. They will always have a premium over vaguely malted fizz simply due to ingredient cost but the ridiculous price levels of old are decreasing along with the need for every flannel wearing, bearded, tattooed loser to become a brewing artist.

Bit too bogan to join the London hipster crowd. They may not let you into their ironically converted corner shop with a carefully selected fridge of obscure brews made out of waste and hedgerow clippings. You need to cultivate this look if you want in (and want to look like every second plonker in E1)

Was buying beer yesterday. I saw Heineken 0% so put it on FB for a laugh.

Who the fuck would drink it ?

Also it was endorsed by Tony Veitch. That says it all.

I would usually go without than drink a non-alcohol beer but I've had Birra Moretti Zero a few times if I had to drive home.

@bovidae I hope styles like Kereru’s Shepherds Ale catch on. A full flavoured 2.5%beer.
Your body can process that level unless you are knocking them back at a high rate.

BrewDog's "Nanny State" - 0.5%, and pretty tasty. Had to resort to it while watching an ABs game in mid-morning, with a full day's riding ahead...
Albeit - was Bledisloe #1 from memory, and true to my superstition, we didn't start scoring proper tries until I had 1 full-strength beer.

@crucial Macs Mid Vicious is easily the best low alcohol beer I have tried, is good to know there are some options out there, will have to keep an eye out for that one.

The Heineken light is the most shitty crap ever, as for zero alcohol, not sure why you'd bother!

I consider anything 4% or below barely worth it. Granted I don't drink to get pissed nearly as much as I used to but in my opinion you need a beer to be at least 5.5% to register.

Speights, Tui, Export and all our mass produced generic shit beers are all around 4% and I've avoided them for years.

If you don't want to go full craft I've found Monteiths, Macs and Boundary Road do some decent drops at good prices.
