Upto ep 6 of Vikings, really enjoying it!

Ragnar reminds me a lot of Jax Teller, with the swagger, the charm and underlying intelligence.
Like that his son Bjorn has returned as a brute of a young fella!

I prefer wife # 1 as well, but loved the scene I ep 1 where he was trying to convince wife #1 it'd be a good idea to let him have a 2nd wife!

I can see he will have to kill the king, who is a mullet and got Ragnar in the mess he currently finds himself in anyway!
I'm just watching the first series of Vikings now. I remember when I first saw pics from Vikings I actually thought it was Jax (and assumed Sons had been canceled). I'm 4 episodes in and mostly enjoying it. Ragnar reminds me of Maui TBH.

It's kind of weird following a show where the protagonists are raiding places and killing people.

I am about 8 episodes into the first season of Arrow. I must just be keen for a superhero TV series, because I keep watching even though I pretty much hate all of the characters' guts.

I find myself yelling at the tv a lot, especially at the cop and his lawyer daughter. There's no consistency or logic to what they say, it's just whatever is the polar opposite opinion of the protaginist at that time.

Last episode four characters went on a double date (a love triangle + a new love interest for the hero). The two characters who aren't together but are clearly into each other start remisinicing about how they used to be together, which is stupid. The fourth wheel throws a tanty because they went on a date with the other couple... but she was the one who f&*cken invited them!

Just watch most of Series one on fast forward Milk. It takes a while to find it's feet and for the writers to get on track. Oliver is just a moody biatch all the way through and his acting ability doesn't reach that far.

Series two focuses mainly on one villain so is a lot more cohesive.

It's just comic book stuff for filler viewing but has been good enough for me to keep watching.

Meanwhile on OB2, things have ramped up and it looks like the premise for this series has been established now.

S1 also wanes a lot about ep17 or so, too much of the same stuff...S2 had a bit of a lull, but is getting interesting again, guess when you run for >20 eps with breaks every month...

Started Banshee last night, was an ok opening ep.

Great programme. Violence and sex and more violence. Titties. Violence. and more titties.

S2 is better as they dial back a bit of the crazy way Hood manages to get the shit kicked out him on a daily basis yet never has anything more than a slight bruise.

I reckon that he showed the producers a compilation of all the roots Van and Jethro got on Outrageous Fortune and they felt sorry for him.

Anyone had a look at Trailer Park Boys? Ostensibly a fly on the wall documentary following the trials and tribulations of two guys from a trailer park that are released from jail and how they are integrated back into their home environment. In reality a glorious piss take with several not particularly subtle jokes running through the series. Sometimes a bit same old, but quite often bloody funny.

Just saw the first episode of Fargo, Martin Freeman was awesome in it and Billy Bob Thornton played a creature of pure malevolence that reminds me of Anton Chirgurh out of No country for old men.

No plans to even show it in NZ and there are no other ways of paying to watch so I have no qualms in finding other ways.

Do you get the double episode first up? It's actually two episodes (hours) but they were shown back to back to kick things off in the US.

Slightly on the topic of downloading and/or watching TV via 'non sanctioned' ways, it has been interesting to see how GoT panned out.

The producers have openly stated that this, the most downloaded show in history, has benefited from that position. Mainly due to the exposure to more people creating talk and a groundswell that has translated back to the broadcast.

Heres a graphic that shows how the audience has grown each series. Most notable thing I see is the big jump from each season end to the next season start. That could be re-runs, but will also be people catching up via other means then hooking in.

Finale of Vikings, pretty good! But for a History Channel production they seem to be veering a bit (unless the version I found was wrong)
i thought Horik would need to go (supposedly he doesn't die here in recounts of Viking history, and isn't really that involved...unless I am looking at the wrong Horik)

I was convinced Flokey had lost his way, but had an inkling something was up when he fed the fungus to Rollo and then the other guy with him supposedly dying, as well as not killing Bjorn (although again having read a little about Bjorn....) when the opportunity was there, but was good he hadn't as I like him. Also interesting how he played the role to his wife also.
