I watched episode 1 of Sleepy Hollow too, and concur....

Finale of Vikings, pretty good! But for a History Channel production they seem to be veering a bit (unless the version I found was wrong)

I was convinced Flokey had lost his way, but had an inkling something was up when he fed the fungus to Rollo and then the other guy with him supposedly dying, as well as not killing Bjorn (although again having read a little about Bjorn....) when the opportunity was there, but was good he hadn't as I like him. Also interesting how he played the role to his wife also.

I've just finished the 2nd series, I basically marathoned the S1 and S2 over the past week or so. What a great show. Only poor episode was E7 of S2 for me as it had to much mystic bullshit in it ... keep that crap in fantasy shows people. 
 
The action scenes are awesome, they make the Game of Thrones action scenes seem hammy in comparison.
 
Earl Lagertha is damn hot.
 
[spoiler] I didn't actually believe that Floki had lost his way. The writers didn't give us enough of a reason as to why Floki would go against Ragnar. Plus, Loki as a double agent kind of fit with the kind of moves you'd expect Ragnar would make going by the rest of the series.
 
I was glad that they replaced Bjorn, the original version annoyed the hell out of me for some reason. The jump they made in episode 2 were trippy as, it was interesting to see that after 4 years Athelstan had become one of them.
 
I'm trying to avoid reading up on the actual history as I just want to watch the show without spoilering myself. [/spoiler]

Wouldn't worry to much about the reading on actual history Nepia. F all is really known about Ragnor and it's even suggested he's more a myth than a real person according to some experts and I'm not so sure they are really trying to be truthful to known history with the story lines. Ragnor's sons on the other hand have very interesting histories. As does Rollo, although I'm pretty sure it's never been suggested he was brother to Ragnor.

will always be historical inaccuracies (or questions over validity of historical references) and at the end of the day, it is a TV Show...still a top show, and I agree with you Nepia on Lagertha!!

Whether the show is 'true' or not, or Ragnar actually existed, I still don't want to learn too much as there are a bunch of historical figures that could be spoiled. Hopefully it doesn't run for 10 seasons as I'd like to do some reading up before then!

Finished the latest series of Grimm...pretty good again, and a decent finale to leave you waiting.
 
Could easily become a bit samesy if not for a decent main storyline running through each episode, but I like it!

Just finished season one and watched first episode of season 2. Not sure what to make of it really I figured it was a political thriller but its taken a bit of a turn!

Watched the first season of House of Cards I found it depressing, Their is nobody in it that's likeable. It's like everyone is an evil bastard, then again they are playing politicians. From the little I've seen, the original English version is even worse/better. The bloke in that (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Richardson' title="Ian Richardson">Ian Richardson</a>.) just does evil so well. I like <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Spacey' title="Kevin Spacey">Kevin Spacey</a> and find it hard to dislike the evil bustard.

That was my thought exactly. However, I just decided to go the other way, and just embrace watching a show where you don't actually like any of the characters.
 
Actually, it's not dissimilar to my attitude to Archer. I can't stand most characters in the show. Still, trying to get my hands on the second season at the moment.

I love the political infighting as well but some of the writing makes no sense.
[spoiler]Like how he knew his wife would screw him over and ruin Peters campaign so he could then kill him get the VP job.[/spoiler]
Its like they write a normal episode then sit around and go okay how do we write a massive twist for the next one. But they mangle the show.
[spoiler]So he kills Peter and now Zoe, so the guy is clearly a calculated serial killer. So am I watching a show about a serial killer or a politician because one is interesting and one is a bit too over the top. Oh and one week Zoe is happy to call her dad while she is shagging Frank the next week she wants to break up. Bitches be crazy and all but come on that is a bit extreme.[/spoiler]
 
The narration device was a crap idea as it totally ties the show to Frank, so you know that he will always get away with it and all his plans work out in the end. Otherwise there is no show. So it spoils it. 
 
Will give it till the end of the season to improve I think

I kind of liked it for most of the first season. The thing about Frank was you never really warmed to him, but you respected him because he got shit done. You were cheering for him to prosper not because he was a good person but because he was smart and good at his job. But then when he killed Russo everything changed. The bloke who occasionally stepped on a few toes (but for the greater good) became a murderer, plain and simple.
 
And the whole premise of the show is you want Frank to succeed, but from that point on I just wanted him to be thrown in jail. And then I gave it another chance for the first ep of season two and he decides to murder Zoe for no real reason. He isn't some genius with a warped moral code, he is a fucking psychopath.

Can see the comparisons with Archer, but House of Cards is trying to be taken seriously. If it went for all-out comedy that would be fine (and frankly it doesn't have to go too far to get there) but I just can't take it seriously.

Oh well, I've had the series sitting around for a few weeks now and haven't watched it so I guess I'm not too worried!
 
I'm currently catching up on Arrow. I think the actress who plays the ex girlfriend/lawyer looks a bit weird. Her face has gotten really skinny since the first season. I wonder if she is sick/anorexic/druggie but she doesn't look very healthy to me ... maybe she's just getting older?
