This thread is lacking discussion on how many more points than the Wallabies Akira would have scored if only he was selected by that coaching team who clearly can't afford Sky.

Honestly living in Australia you really get fed up with the ex-private school boys (who are all Liberal Party voters) who make excuses for their shithouse team blaming the ABs’ dominance on some clandestine conspiracy by referees. Kearns is the worst of them.

Not really true as a lot of them are swing voters because of their wives. The wife who drive around in the Range Rover but are climate change warriors who vote Greens or Malcolm Turnbull....

Anyone complaining about Kearns or any other of these Aussie commentators need an uppercut. There is a mute button.

        You can mute commentary only?
Or are suggesting people watch the game in silence, no whistle or crowd noise, as penance for commenting about a game in a game thread?

Yep. Although I stand ready to put loud rap music on every time Ardie runs with the ball.

Clearly you've never been to a game in Christchurch - my poor ears would have been shocked by the language coming from the Crusaders fans if I wasn't concentrating so much on avoiding all the shit they were throwing at me.

            Massive generalisations

            Factual story.

Ok, not 100% factual, it was an NPC game not Super rugby.

All good, I was just kidding around (although that story is true and I was on crutches with a broken leg at the time) - I've spent a few games at the Old Lancaster Park/Jade Stadium etc supporting the ABs and not suffering any abuse.

Where’s she going to go? No one else can keep her in the style to which she has become accustomed. So occasionally she has to slum it, is that so bad?

Goodhue was sent to Japan rather than to London as originally reported. That must mean he will be available to play Japan.

That would be a hell of a turnaround given he had glandular fever.

Both of you are correct. I'm torn between them at the moment. TJPs running and defensive game are the best of any halfback in the world, but his passing is not up to standard. A Smith has the best pass I have ever seen, which is such a massive advantage for us when he's playing, but the other parts of his game have regressed.

If only we could merge the two of them...

Right now I prefer TJP, especially if we are playing SA or Ireland, with A Smith off the bench to up the ante in the last 20.

Agree. I think too with the very physical, bust it up the guts tactics the ABs will face against England and Ireland it will be better to have TJP's physical presence to take some of the heat off in the early exchanges. Then bring little dude on to ramp shit up in the last 20-30.

Shame we can't get the perfect combo of pass and size. But TTT certainly looks like a good prospect.

After watching a replay of the test it was interesting to see how little Aust kicked deep, which negated any counter-attacking opportunities for DMac and co. There were a couple of kicks down the sidelines that went in goal but apart from the kick behind when BB was caught on the goal line they obviously had a tactic of keeping the ball in hand. I expect England and Ireland to kick more which will provide those opportunities to attack.

I’d be surprised if they kicked much. Historically they may have but they would be crazy to do so. Ireland have the attacking game to play with the ball.

Box kicking is a big part of Murray's arsenal but maybe less now with him not there. But I still expect Ireland to put the ball in the air and challenge, something Aust didn't do (the Folau midfield catch aside). England will kick more than Aust did, and use their wingers to chase.

Fark, you're keen. I struggled to maintain interest through the game - it seemed both sides were playing a very limited gameplan and not showing much at all.
