I don't think that the show is positioned as being "cool".

Mad Men Season 7, is shit, that is all...........

Mind you I have invested so much time in it I will watch it to the end. Yes, I do have a sad life, living vicariously through my TV heroes.

An old kiwi comedy (2005) that I never knew existed - Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby

Not a series that'll force you to drop everything but for all the 30 years of age plus expats that've been away from home for a long time, this was a refreshing reminder of kiwi comedy and satire.

David McPhail (legend growing up in the 80's) is simply superb with his anti pc honesty. Made me laugh out loud quite a lot.

Part comedy, part nostalgia, part good acting, but worth a look if you've been away for a while and some classic kiwi pisstaking.

BTW, if you get offended by any of the material then you are either too young and I pity you, or you're a frikkin knob

Thanks for this. I had a physics teacher that could have been Gormsby. I had not heard of this and am enjoying it a lot.

I'm really enjoying S7, some episodes have been the best comedies of the year and grumpy Peggy has been great to watch. I'm liking it more than any current show I'm watching including Game of Thrones.

But then I never loved Mad Men off the bat, it only really started getting good for me nearing the end of S3, so maybe these episodes are more to my taste?

I thought that season 6 of Mad Men was garbage (with a shit-ton of filler), but I hope that season 7 is better.

The guy who played Peter Gregory on Silicon Valley died in December (he was also Grant in Rubicon!). Fucking lung cancer. :(

I really liked S6 as well, so you may want to temper your expectations as it appears we're on opposite worlds at the moment. :)

Orphan Black - I found this weird but somewhat hot

Tatiana's dominatrix character gets some kink going while being watched by her psycho character through a rifle scope and her main character through binoculars.

Yep DK. Mad Men 7 sucks balls big team. And yes I too will watch it to the end and complain each and every week how crape it was. Seriously, WTF is the point in keeping Don's ex in the show?

Latest episode of Silicone Valley was pretty good. There were actually some plot developments. Perhaps its best to watch ep 1 and 2 and go straight to this episode (7 or 8 I think). The rest was just crap.

In response I will come on every week to say how much I enjoy it now and rattle on like an old drunk about how it was crap back in the early days when you guys rated it. 😉

Hopefully you don't feel like I did at the end of HIMYM, regret at losing 22 half hours' a season from S5 onwards.

As for Betty, she is there to be horrible, which has always been her role. The show has always been about Don's sphere and the family is still part of that sphere ... the arguments between Sally and Betty crack me up.

Crucial: Ya big perv. That scene was actually quite funny. My favourite Tatiana (aside from the Doc on Parks and Rec) is still Sarah but I quite like Rachel. Beth (is that soccer Mom's name?) is still the funniest though.

Nepia: I wonder if you genuinely like the show or you just get off going against the grain you rebel contrarian you

If they want Betty there they can at least give her something useful to do. A tanty about her son swapping her lunch for gumballs isn't exactly riveting entertainment. The show is going nowhere.

Tim: Apologise for that. No doubt there is a film with that name that has very different subject matter.

With regard to SILICON Valley, that show would be dead(er) without TJ Miller. He others mostly terrible.

Ha, if I really wanted to be contrarian I wouldn't like Game of Thrones, or TBH The Wire. But I love them both. As for Mad Men, I look forward to it every week and it has left me satisfied every week, for the first couple of seasons it did nothing for me because it didn't actually go anywhere, it was all style over substance (not really, but more than now) and Don and Roger being 'cool'.

If you can't find entertainment in Betty being bitchy and then going a bit nutso because Bobby gave away her sandwich then it appears Mad Men isn't the show for you. I'll let you know how it finishes next year if you'd like to save you the HIMYM pain I experienced?

TJ Miller is one note to me, the first time he did his shtick he was funny, subsequently it's not ... it's a bit like That Guy, I laughed at him once, the first time I saw him do his comedy, then I didn't laugh again.

I think you did say you enjoy Mad Men 7 more than Got which is very contrarian (and a little retarded).

How can you say nothing was happening in the earlier seasons of Mad Men? There were affairs, busted marriages, new owners, new firm, heart attacks, suicide, unwanted pregnancies, even some war scenes. What amazing new things are happening that get your attention now? The new computer? Betty having lunch with a friend. Yes much more interesting.

I never said Miller was a genius, but he seems like one compared to the rest of the SV cast.

I watch Mad Men before GOT on Sunday's so I am liking it more ... that's different than not liking GOT.

As for nothing happening, I didn't say nothing happened (and a bunch of that stuff you mention is from S3 onwards where I said it started getting good), I said it never went anywhere, Don never had any consequences to his actions ... the last two seasons have all been about Don facing up to his Don-ness.

At any rate, I'm happy to be watching it and am annoyed it's only got an episode left in this season.

On TJ Miller, I might have bundled up your comments with Tim's as he seems like an uber fanboi - so my response was to that as opposed to just his place in the show. I've given up on it any rate.
