Blues 2019

@chchfanatic Quite pleased with that if true. Nothing against Christie but we've got guys in the region who are just as good who we should be looking at promoting anyway. Tom Christie for some reason reminds me of Luke Braid where he's built the same and toils away, makes his fair share of tackles without a hell of a lot of sting in them, ok with ball in hand without being anything special and lacks a bit of extra speed at the breakdown to go on to higher honours.
@african-monkey 100% agree with u. Christie is the ultimate professional though. The crusaders love him. But he’s not actually a very good rugby player. He’s good on d , but not an enforcer. Very good on the turnover. Got nothing on attack. Watch out for the name Cullen grace. That kid is going to be something special. First year out of high school and he was a beast in div 1 this year.

@chris Canterbury has Rameka Poihipi ready to go at 12 and then he blew his knee out. Had already loaned nuu out. That why Burleigh got a chance. Beard is just terrible.
@chchfanatic Yeah Beard is shit we need a couple of midfielders as I see it Nu'u,Poihipi, seem to be options if rumours are true not much else around
-
@chchfanatic what ever happened to Canterbury Under 19 openside Charlie Gamble, can remember him lighting up the National Under 19 tournament a few years back..I think Brett Cameron was the first five, they played Waikato in the final..sensational game..!
@steven-harris yeah he’s just disappeared. Have no idea where he is. Hasn’t played club rugby for last 2 years

@chchfanatic he was the skipper if my memory has not deserted me..looked a tough uncompromising player he was very good over the ball..really liked the look of him,had a sense of Pocock about him

@steven-harris Yes Nu'u is a Canterbury player who has always been a standout in CHCH club rugby I was shocked we signed 2 plonders in Beard and Burleigh and let Nu'u go Hopefully Razor is smarter than Maddocks

Tell me about it, Nu’u is one of the 12s I’ve seen at club level. Was shocked they let him go to Southland.

@sammyc did he follow MacLeod, he seems to have a bit of sway with some of these guys.

Yeah he did, played at the Sydenham club under McLeod. I think Southland were pretty surprised we let him go though

Cullen Grace was superb in the couple of games I saw. So much physicality for a 19 year old.

@stargazer Not too sure. Was sitting near his mum on Saturday who mentioned.

So far with 3 squads named the blues region has got away lightly only loosing Rayasi and Manu to other franchises, and probably Whetton to the Highlanders.
