@taniwharugby I can't see how Nock was any better in this year's Mitre 10 Cup than he was in last year's Mitre 10 Cup. Both years they made the Championship semis and got smashed.
@kiwimurph his play has been much better all round, more assured this season, especially on defence, IMO due to the pressure from Kitto.

@kiwimurph saw all the Taniwha games this year ,it was definitely Nocks best year, before the start of the season you could have definitely questioned his position in the Blues, I was asking the same questions of Jonathan Ruru but like Nock I think they were both very good in the ITM Cup..
People were getting a little excited about Leon Fukofuka ,but I believe he has several short comings that includes a laboured pass and a very poor high kick game not to mention he has the same Issue Pulu has,first option is to look at my option.
Mind you could probably put all of these guys behind a Crusaders pack and they would all look awesome..Bryn Hall case in point..

He has the pace but has always previously been a 12/10 rather than 12/13 type player. It is a shame that Tele'a was injured for most of the Mitre 10. He is a potent player and will be an important player to develop under the guidance the two grandads but he would be a risk to start at 13 with only really age group rep experience previously.
I was assuming TJ moving out to 13 and the old codgers rotating. But who knows, maybe SBW will fire with consistent gametime and Nonu could carve up. Must admit I have little memory of Tele'a so can't judge.

@steven-harris Fair call. I just remember reading the same thing about Nock 12 months ago and nothing came of it in Super rugby. Hopefully the new coaches help put these guys in a position to succeed (like the Auckland coaches did for Ruru and countless other players).

@kiwimurph wasnt from me, I was questioning if he'd even retain his spot with Northland let alone the Blues.

Yeah from what I saw of Nock for Northland, he looked far better. He looked to be playing with confidence which is something that he hasn't had so far in his pro career. Last season at the Blues he looked scared to touch the ball.

@african-monkey actually thought Nock was in danger of losing his spot when Jono Kitto fronted up for the Taniwha this year.
A little bit of competition was a good thing for NockHaving met Sam many times, the only thing I will say, he is a very quiet fella or introvert might be a better word, so I do wonder if he talks enough..?

@tim not me brother,The ABs are about number 4 on the care factor scale..behind Club,Mitre 10 and Super rugby..
Only around RWC time I take the biggest interest. -

@steven-harris Yeah it looked like it when he played SR. I feel that he'll be great but his confidence has been shot so far and it's held him back at the Blues.

@african-monkey as you said, looked scared to touch the ball and even tackle people at times, whereas this year, his defence for us was very good, I'd still like him to run a bit more.
Never knew he was so quick either to chase down Nanai in the game this year too.

@tim regarding Weber,he’s probably just fallen down the pecking order with TTT arriving on the season,probably only an injury away from a ticket back in..
