When I worked in Sydney I was working with some Irish guys and they used to love sending their countrymen fresh off the plane looking for some work gear to a place called The toolshed in Darlinghurst.

@nepia their reactions the next day were gold , I remember one of them ranting about a giant black rubber fist hanging from the ceiling.

One of the main things they shifted the timeline of is probably to make the live aid concert even more dramatic , it might bug Queen tragics I guess. .

Exactly. You can understand wanting to finish the movie on a high note but from what I've read the movie suggests that the performance at Live Aid was related to Freddie's HIV diagnosis which couldn't be further from the truth. The band themselves didn't know until 4 years later.

There's a kiwi connection there, Anthony McCarton was one of the script writers and Adam Lambert gets a cameo as a truck driver.

Hopefully I'll see the movie tomorrow.

I have now seen Bohemian Rhapsody and I did enjoy it, particularly Rami Malek's portrayal of Freddie and the Live Aid scenes.

However, as someone who is familiar with the history of Queen, messing with the timeline to suit a particular narrative was a little annoying. There was actually only 2 months from their last concert on the Works tour in 1985 (in Japan) until Live Aid but the movie makes it seem like the band had an extended hiatus due to Freddie's solo career.

Watched a couple movies recently which I may have seen referenced in this thread at some point, not sure

Prayer before dawn - English bloke who is a kickboxer by trade falls into drugs and crime in Thailand and gets sent to one of Thailands most notorious prisons. Mostly true story. 4/5

Last Flag Flying - Old vietnam war vets meet up for a road trip. Think it was categorised as a comedy, certainly some funny parts but pretty emotional story. I thought it was a great story 4.5/5

Outlaw King - is “watchable” a compliment? Was saved by a very nice pair of tits and a GoT copy battle scene.

With the ease in which we can access tits on the interweb this is hardly a selling point.

Papillon - CHarlie Hunnan, Rami Malek

A retelling of the true story.

Story in itself is remarkable, Malek is good, but Jax Teller Charlie Hunnan just doesnt pull it off, his swagger and general demeanor is too much like Jax Teller, unsure if they wanted him to play it like this, but to me just didnt really work.
