    @mariner4life

I have a ready made map for you, and I'll update it before you come. Just pm me beforehand.

If you are going to Hokkaido, you should also get @MiketheSnow to give some suggestions. I think @Samurai-Jack is in the fucking sticks near Utsunomiya, so he's probably pretty fucking hopeless except for suggesting you try the gyoza, which is fucking Chinese anyway. No doubt he'll show up with some great recommendations now.

nice!! nah, just Tokyo this time. Direct flights out of Cairns for absolutely fuck all. Coming for a week. I am actually really looking forward to it

Only two matches in Sapporo. I've got tickets for the England v Tonga match.

Then fly down to Tokyo for Wales v Australia.

The Sapporo matches will be good and Sapporo will be lots of fun, but shortlived.

@bones a guy on a podcast I listen to kept a deer in a chiller for a year then ate it. They cut an inch off the outside and ate the meat inside , reckoned it had the texture of cheese .

Taking ageing to the extreme. You do notice the difference in tenderness in an aged steak but you wouldn't want to see the meat before they prepare it for cooking.

I think I'll be at the Wakes/Oz game - wearing red and drinking with a bunch of Welsh birds. Beer at the ground?

Same guy cooked and ate a coyote too.

You're not listening to the right podcasts, you want the ones like this one if we're talking extreme eating.

    Australian Associated Press  /  Mar 17, 2016  /  Film

Story of Australian woman who skinned and cooked partner to be told in film

Story of Australian woman who skinned and cooked partner to be told in film

Katherine Knight stabbed and mutilated her de facto husband in the Hunter Valley 16 years ago and the story is now set to be adapted for the big screen

I've read a fair bit about that crazy bitch, the cops who were first on the scene needed psychiatric help afterwards.

    Can't think why

She certainly disproves the theory that it's only the hot ones who are crazy

@gt12 I'll have you know that if Utsunomiya was in NZ we'd be the second biggest city. Still the Tokyoite bastards call it the sticks. The gyoza here is the best of course but culinary-wise nothing beats Tokyo.

@mariner4life My wife was so sick of my preaching on the subject she took me to a seaside sushi shop and said "eat this!" I did and then she told me it was whale. Tasteless shit compared to other sushi. The whale bacon sold in some supermarkets is OK though.

Pretty much the only thing from the sea I can't abide is sea cucumber although I haven't had whale. I have had seal and it wasn't great.

I don't have an issue with eating different foods dog was OK insects are / can be good - Cobra blood shooters are just an excuse to brag.

Croc is OK but a bit bland - like snake. Roo ostrich all the darker meats are good. Balut is actually quite nice although very rich. Heard mixed reports on guinea pig sparrows a lot of effort from not much return

Guinea pig is similar to sparrows/partridges/other-small-game-birds... decent enough, but the effort/return ratio is dubious.
Piranha - way, way too much effort for fuck all, and the little shits are still trying to kill you after they're dead... tiny razor sharp bones.
    And yeah - croc/snake/tortoise - pretty bland.
Had whale in Iceland... can't remember much about it, which I guess is a review in itself.
Roo steak - excellent... seems strange the ockers don't take more advantage of that. Are the wild ones disease-ridden?
One thing very high on my list of things to try - koala. I figure it will be fatty shit, but just the looks on aussie's faces would be worth it.

@Bones Yeah it's not a fast drop like in turbulence, because the autopilot was flying it. But it was only 1500' above the ground with a target of 0!

At that rate/altitude - they had another 35 seconds or so before the autopilot "landed" the plane.
    No problem, clickbait "news".

As the guys say above it is the proximity to the ground that matters and the fact that the autopilot had a capture altitude of zero - so conceivably would have just flown into the ground (they normally have an auto disconnect of about 500 ft so it probably wouldn't have kept going without a pilot doing something. The actual rate of decent isn't too excessive for a pressurised aircraft (at altitude).

Strange thing is that the autopilots operated independently. Most airliners (even my light aircraft) only have one altitude setting to prevent that happening i.e put an altitude in and any autopilot engaged will take you there. I have never flown a Dash 8 but that doesn't seem like a very good system.

Sounds like she's got issues from earlier pregnancies. That bit about her body 'failing her' as she had to have c-sections is actually insulting as fuck to other woman who've had too, or chosen too, take that route.

Lol, kept in the family till she self-weaned at 9. Now there's just an online article to follow that poor kid around!!
