Speed is our best friend. Reckon we need to really ramp it up in the 2nd half. Bring on Todd for Squire, and Richie M, to add some spice.

The kicking tactics have been over used this year. As a rule, it has given away possession for no advantage. Coaching issue for me rather than Beauden.

But if you look at the tests this year it has been a first half tactic mainly. Second 40 we have definitely changed it.

@act-crusader our first half’s have been average. So not sure you can say kicking has worked.

NZ comprehensively outplayed until BB stopped kicking aimlessly.

England thoroughly deserve their lead, but will be kicking themselves it's so close after having all the first half.

Should have kept Shields off. Lawes awesome.

England will be lucky to stay at 15 if they keep on infringing.

Going to be a cracking second half.

            Quick thoughts.

Bloody happy with that scoreline considering.

SBW feels career over. Crotty has been awesome since he has been on.

What the actual fuck is Squire doing? Hanging out wide doing zero. Talk about ineffectual.

DMac very impressive considering the conditions.

I’d forgotten Squire was out there. Has his name been mentioned once?

In this game , the conditions suggest it’s a day for kicking , but the quality of the kicks were shit

@kev yeah I agree. But the strategy of playing a certain way in the 1st half and changing things in the 2nd have been successful this year.

Just need to work on execution

@kev that first 30 minutes or so England’s kick and chase game was bloody impressive ,where our kick game was either rubbish,or they dealt with it..both their tries were also well taken

Whoever said they thought it was brilliant from Read to take the scrum - I really don't think he had any choice. It was simply score a try here or be pushed out of the game. Now we have given ourselves a chance. That's all we need

@act-crusader yep I also think the mindset becomes too much about kicking. That grubber to blindside inside 22 was a low % play when had no position for 20 mins and behind.

Have to disagree he was kicking aimlessly. He wasn't kicking well (or even close), but he was clearly trying to get in behind the English to force 5m scrums. He was missing comfortably, but if he nailed one the ABs are probably going to score 75% of the time off that set piece.

Good plan, just executed shit. England tried the exact same thing early and pulled it off and are being lauded.

So a poorly executed kick to the right part of the field isn't aimless?

Let's hope the English have tired themselves out with that massive defensive effort they have put in so far.
