I reckon! Facebook is exactly the same. Myself included. I ate a apple today, that's good for FB!
I like most of it though and can easily ignore the dross (which my posts mostly are)

I'm not on Twitter, i can't really see the use for it. And it definitely seems a risky joint.
My main problem with the platform is it has become a free hit for "news" sites to create content. Something happens, find 3 fuckwits spouting shit on Twitter, and bang, you have an article with the headline "Fans outraged by...". They must have a template, because the article will follow the same format, explain mildly controversial thing, quote said outraged fans, embed tweet. Finish with spurious conclusion. Boom, reap delicious clicks.
