@Donsteppa not knowing what trivial means sounds like a perfectly reasonable reason to fail an exam.

OMG FFS GTFO. Millenials can make excuses for not knowing shit by not reading, or learning. All morans.

NQ -You really shouldn't have told me how young you are. This will for on, like foreva.

So in summary, dim people expect to be assessed as clever people because they are dim but it’s not their fault. Yeah, seems reasonable.

My sons school has never had a prize giving. They just give stuff to the kids going off to Intermediate which will be my son this year. Growing up in Area School there weren't any class prizes until Intermediate and just a couple of major prizes from Primary School.

This shit triggers me. I have a mate who was teaching in the 80's and gave everyone an A because he wasn't going to tell a kid he was a failure.
He's now an Education Professor and a world authority on education.

    FFS

He's also a staunch Blues supporter so a moron in every way

My 5 year old got an award at assembly the other week, and I can't tell you how happy it made him. Really gave him incentive to work hard to get another one.

This just seems like an attempt to artificially flatten a natural hierarchy. It's a bad idea, and the kids will know who the best students are anyway so a bit pointless, other than not rewarding those that are working hard. Also, the kids that think being the best is not important are in for quite a shock when they start applying for jobs in the real world.

You guys think millennial's are bad. Just wait for the next generation coming through...

@no-quarter TR Jnr's intermediate give them 'stripes' for things that get sewn onto thier school shirts.

He got a certificate for getting 20, and another stripe...I said to him while it is good that he has them, I think the best ones he has are the ones he got for achievement, not the over half he got for volunteering (things like road patrol, bin monitor etc) or just going to school (there was one for attendance FFS)

This just seems like an attempt to artificially flatten a natural hierarchy. It's a bad idea, and the kids will know who the best students are anyway so a bit pointless

As many know, I have coached TR Jnrs rugby team since he was 5, and even back then, when you didnt keep score, the kids knew who won, and by how many. Even when they were killing the other team and you were a bit more leniant on the other team fumbling or stepping out or whatever, the kids were like 'but he dropped it'

Kids arent fuckign stupid, but they are treating them like they are, and therefore will end up making them stupid.
