Just did a google image search to see this swamp monster you boys are talking about. Lena Dunham.

Umm you are all a bunch of liers I suspect I would need a crowbar to get you off of her.

Mind you I only saw the red carpet photos, at work so avoided anything more risque, but baring her packing meat and two vege I can't see a major issue there? Is she gobby or something?

Watch an episode, its a great show, but WOW she has a bad body.

And you see it. All of it. All the time. Watching that show & enjoying & blanking out Dunhams vast arse is like watching Schindlers List & trying to focus on the amazing film making & ignore the whole "unpleasantness" with the Nazis.

In this analogy Lena Durham naked is the equivelant of the holacaust. Yes.

Moving on, Silicon Valley. Thats fucking outstanding. Theres some very cool "indy" stuff out of the states at the mo' (Girls, Silicon Valley, Workaholics)
-
it cracked me up how they dealt with a 12 episode "24" by jumping from 11h50m to 23h50m.
I think the Audrey part was so Jack had nothing left to live for except helping Chloe. The bit I didn't quite get was if the idea that everything that happened was all about the Russians drawing Jack out to catch him.
Maybe in the original script they had him dying to save the world but the ratings were OK, so they left it open
i would agree with that
a hasty re-write would certainly explain why that ending felt rushed.

Did the whole show feel to you like they tried to make a normal 24, complete with several different plot lines. but in half the number of episodes? The whole thing felt a bit rushed.
-

I just finished watching "Slaying the Badger" from the Espn 30 for 30 series about Greg Le Mond and Bernard Hinault. Brilliant work, great story regardless if you are a cycling fan or not. You forget how good Le Mond was. He basically handed Hinault the Tour in '85, and if he had been able to compete in '87 and '88 who knows, he could have possibly won 5 anyway. Without doping. Nice little final bit about Lance at the end too, clearly it was an open secret that he was being "assisted"

I assume that everyone is ready for SOA7?

This is going to be brutal. Sutter won't be going out with a whimper and if he keeps following the Hamlet path the cast will be reduced considerably in number by the end.

Yep, you'd tend to think it will be a Sopranos style final series of mayhem.
-

Ah man I'm in a Lincoln* like quandary with the series The Knick. On the one hand it's written and directed by Soderbergh who's one of my favourite directors but it stars Clive Owen who I find to be a totally charisma free actor.

It's about a hospital at the turn of the century (19th to 20th).

* I really want to watch it as it's a Spielberg film (who I generally like) but I'm just unable to watch Day Lewis in anything these days.
-

Just read this in a review if it helps Nepia.

Adding another head to The Knick's powerful hydra is the series' incredible cast of characters. Clive Owen is commanding as Dr. Thackery, a stubborn genius who's teetering on the brink of assholism but doesn't go quite far enough to make us hate him. He's brilliant, but haunted by his inability to conquer nature's way, plus he's dealing with a crippling—yet invigorating!—addiction to cocaine and heroin. In fact, it's so crippling that he had cocaine injected into his dick. Into his dick! This is the man who is going to revolutionize surgery, and he might be performing miracles while whacked out on the Devil's Dandruff

Probably worse, if you're going to be an asshole you need some charisma doing it.

I'm sure Soderbergh can overcome his shortcomings though, Channing Tatum was thought of as a minor player before teaming up with him and now he's a huge star and acts across genres.
-

Finished S3 of Longmire, enjoyed this series more as it went on...nice finale too!

Rena Owen had a very brief (10 sec or so) part in 1 ep as a Native American Medicine Woman.

A series starting this week called Legends sounds good (Sean Bean - will he make it out of season 1 alive?)
-
Starting watching Ripper Street recently, not a bad watch, currently nearing the end of the 1st season
It doubles as a 'spot the Game of Thrones' star game as well.
-

TR are you watching season 2 of "The Bridge"? It's ok, but i am still not actually sure what it's about.

When it originally aired they started with the Train Job. Seems weird of Maori TV to play it in the original order considering its over 10 years old.

Have you got the actual movie Serenity to watch as well?
-
Not a series as such, but they just showed a doco on SBS here called "Wild Arabia" primarily about the Dhofar mountains in Oman. Bloody fascinating stuff including very rare forage of the Arabian Leopard. These two dudes set up cameras with what looked like solar power (maybe motion detectors?) in the mountains to capture the wildlife.

They also did some time lapse shots of the region's valleys during the Indian monsoon that sweeps up that part of the Arabian peninsula. I could barely believe that you'd see such greenery in that party if the world, even for a few months.

Blew my mind.

Looks like this thread needs a bump - it was down with the 1960s stockcar thread.

I'm back watching The Walking Dead 2 and Orange is the New Black 2. I'm about six episodes in on both.

Orange: Wow, they need to just rename the show the L Word: The Prison Years. Is it just me or have they upped the nudity and lesbian sex scenes quotient? I'm about half way through, things are all going well. The first episode was interesting, it was an extremely condensed version of what was in the book, which was good as I thought it was going to follow the book and I've read it recently so new different stories are better.

The Walking Dead 2: Thank god for Lauren Cohen! I'm a bit worried about myself and maybe I'm a misogynist and don't really know it but I can't stand the other women on The Walking Dead, there was one scene where all 3 of them were together, Blondie, Wifey, and Sophia's Mom, and man I wanted the Redneck to put an arrow through my head. In fact, for a show I like there are very few characters I actually like, I like the Redneck and the Asian and don't mind the Old Fulla, but the Sheriff and Shane are both moody dropkicks and the love triangle (or not) is boring as shit. But I'm still enjoying the show and looking forward to the next episode so go figure.
