Outstanding collapse from New Zealand, losing 10 wickets for 40 runs.

And Kane Williamson at the other end was in absolutely no bother at all.

The leg break to bowl Ross Taylor was a beauty that Shane Warne would have been proud of - pitched on leg and hit off. Taylor didn't ever get close to it.

Taylor has had this terrible habit early on defending forward to spin where his bat drifts from off to leg and a long way ( comparatively) in front of his pad. This undid him today. If you look for it you'll see it a lot early in his innings'

It was a good ball for sure, but Rossco should counter that

Need a rain dance to make it rain for the next two days of the year.

For this line-up, five out is all out against the likes of Shah.

Shah took 10 in a day. First time this century.

@mariner4life will be pleased with CDGHs return with the bat in the same way @NTA loves the Marsh boys.

Man, fuck test cricket ( says MN5 completely forgetting the euphoria of last week )

Taylor said on radio breakfast that they get an average of 6 days rain a year... and they've had 5 days worth since NZ have been touring. There is hope!!

    Shah 8/41.

    90 all out.

    Rain, sandstorm, and locusts?

Wow. Holy fucken shit. God damn....

The Black Caps are truly the Scottish Rugby of cricket......which explains my year round battle with binge drinking.

I know your pain mate. I also support the Taniwha, who rival the BCs for their infamous ability to blow hot and cold.

false equivalence. NTA hates the Marsh boys with a passion (they are pretty underwhelming).

I only give CdGH shit because i think he's a bit underwhelming, not good enough at either discipline to get a run in a test side.

That said, on that deck, his brand of military medium was pretty much what we needed (okay, obviously what we needed was a really fucking good leggie)

That's some collapse isn't it? The Zimbos would be embarrassed by that.

CDGH is basically stealing tests off the more talented Jimmy Neesham or Corey Anderson

None of those three are the answer at test level. Just classic BC "allrounders" - have a bash with the bat and throw down some military medium pies, then get promoted to provide more "balance".

I'd prefer we go with a 6 - 1 - 4 balance if we can't get a decent allrounder. A couple of the batsmen can throw down a bit of spin if the bowlers are getting ground into the dust on a flat track.

I said more talented. I didn't say they were the next Imran or Gary Sobers....

Well they're all better All rounders than Mitch Santner

Didn’t Neesham get dropped from domestic cricket last year?

Plenty of talent, but probably unfulfilled so far - sadly!

Not much point slagging a player if you don't offer up his replacement

Thus it has been ever so with NZ cricket

    ( here endeth the sermon😀)

    W
Hasan Ali to de Grandhomme, OUT, enginers whirring! Hasan Ali runs down the pitch and pulls the chain. CDG will be embarrassed with this shot, no doubt. A length ball in at off stump. Keeps low on him a touch but that's probably because he wasn't on the front foot. It's a hoick. He's stood tall and hoicked. And he's lost his stumps, which is what happens.
    C de Grandhomme b Hasan Ali 14 (13b 2x4 0x6) SR: 107.69

Shah 14 wickets. Take a bow. An awesome performance even with our out of sorts batting lineup.

    Question.

I've not seen hotspot in various DRS referrals in this series (not that I'm watching closely). Has that been arsed? (Have vague recollection it may have been.)

Just think hotspot is more reliable than snicko, or at least builds a fuller picture.

    You thoughts?*

I'm asking on behalf of Tom Latham.
