Two Catholic school nuns in California have admitted to embezzling about $US500,000 ($694, 457 AUD) and using the funds over the years for travel and gambling in Las Vegas, their order said on Monday.

Sisters Mary Margaret Kreuper and Lana Chang, who are said to be best friends, took the money from tuition, fees and donations at St. James Catholic School in Torrance, south of Los Angeles.

Clearly among the majority of Americans who think the central message of the Bible is that "God helps those who help themselves"

If you were a billionaire CEO who wanted to create the world’s most audaciously advanced concert venue, what would you do? If the answer is “Stick 157,000 ultra-directional speakers, a three-and-a-half-acre spherical ultra-high-res video screen and vibrating floors into a enormous dome built from scratch,” you’re thinking like actual billionaire James Dolan, whose Madison Square Garden Company broke ground on the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas in September.

I like in the article how it said the cameraman turned away when he made the one move that was either going to mean success or death.

I don't quite no what to think of people like that. Whether to be in awe of them, or wonder what the fuck is wrong with them. Bit of both really. Sheesh.

@no-quarter Yeah but the ones that keep doing it once they have family, like wingsuit flyers, are fuckwits.

@machpants especially if you have F-all chance getting decent life insurance!!

From what I've watched and read about the folks who really push the envelope they are incredibly focused and competent. To the rest of us they look utterly mad, and no doubt there must be some madness in there somewhere, but they also have insane skills and a clear sense of what they can and can't do.

Not sure if its perfect or faulty wiring in their brains that lets them do things where there is zero margin for error.

Also I keep wondering how those wingsuit guys fly with such giant stones!!

Steady on. Wingsuit flying over here is basically limited to jumping out of the same planes parachutists do. It's entirely different to terrain following Aiguille du Midi or le Brévent. The latter has a remarkable impact on your longevity.
