What is Vikings like? We are looking at starting that

    A really good show.

Edit: I've only watched S1-4 as I don't have Lightbox. Waiting for it to be available on other platforms.

@hooroo I really like Vikings, are similarities to The Last Kingdom (or TLK similar to Vikings)

The Good Place does go a bit flat for a bit in S2.

Have you watched Silicon Valley? That starts a bit slow but gets better.

Not yet re: silicon valley. Trying not to get too hooked on too many shows 🙂

There’s a twist at the end of the good place worth sticking around for.

Vikings is ok i guess if you like violence, gore , nudity and lots of sex scenes.

    Just finished Bad Blood.

Excellent levels of violence, total absence of nudity . Decent cast too .

Yeah we've just started this, it seems good so far, although not quite that must watch feel.

Is it Netflix? I've just finished Ozark S2 and will start a new show - although if anyone knows where there is a Man in the High Castle S2 recap then I might get to watching S3.

I've bailed on MITHC for the time being...think I watched 3 eps and just wasnt into it.

Havent started S2 of Ozark yet, but will likely do so soon having just finished Last Kingdom, although knowing me I'll find something else to start!!

Yeah, it's a crazy time for TV. I used to have shows that I'd wait for the new TV season to watch - now there's so many that come out at so many times that I've lost track. I didn't even click that two of my favourite US sitcoms had been running for 8 weeks already.

Netflix contributes to it - sometimes I'm too lazy to think of other shows so just watch whatever I see on Netflix.

finished S3 of The Last Kingdom.

not quite as good as other seasons, seemed to jump about a bit more with the different storie lines and then the pig headedness of Alfred & Uhtred was frustrating.

    Still really liked it though.

Thought the character Skade was sexy AF in this too.

This series went a long way away from the books which might have had some impact on the lack of continuity.

Ok I'm obviously pretty dim, but last episode of Bodyguard. Poooooo stinky.

I finished watching this tonight. Agree with your comments.

    :::

For a 6-part series the middle episodes dragged on a little bit and the tension of the final episode was spoilt by the ending. It was if the writers tried to be too smart with all the twists and turns so that the viewer could be shocked when everything was revealed

@bovidae I was ok with it, but I have come to expect weak finales as most series seem to struggle with how to end series, either rushing too much to close it off, dragging things out for the finale or the mere fact things are tidied up efficiently can be a bit meh as well.

Similar to other shows from Jed Mercurio. Makes things over complicated and dragged out through the middle then to have an overly fast wrap up.
Very similar to each of the Line of Duty series.
Always watchable and you get sucked in but the end never seems satisfying.

I haven't seen anything else from him. I found Luther (S1 and S2) much more satisfying to watch if I compare Bodyguard to another UK thriller TV series.

Might as well start listing 2019 shows to keep an eye out for...

    GoT - obvious
Baptiste - the detective from 'The Missing' gets his own (unrelated) show. Series is set in Amsterdam. Was a great character so looking forward to this.
This Time With Alan Partridge - a welcome return
What we do in the Shadows - a TV version

Plenty of old favourites as well - Luther, Happy Valley, Taboo, True Detective, Killing Eve, Line of Duty

Started watching the Haunting of Hill House on Netflix, 4 eps in and really like it.

Plenty of hair up on the back of the neck moments in every episode so far, storyline is good too, if not a little jumpy until you work out what is going on. Acting of the kids in particular is very good.

Is a bout a family who lived in this creepy as hugearse old house...as you have guessed, haunted. But the real story is the lives of the family after they have moved out and as you learn some of what went on in the house that has shaped them into adults.

I'll probably get through the next 6 eps over the next few days.

@bovidae When you say its on Netflix, I dont think that is up to date with whats airing in the US though is it?

On my Netflix it is only showing the eps that were shown earlier this year, not S5.E11 or whatever started last month...?

That said, I am undecided as to whether to start it yet or wait until I can binge 🤔
