@nepia I watch plenty of shit I sit back afterwards and think WTF, I had been told it was shite...that said, I've seen some crackers that are rated shit too... 🙂

Yep, and I watch stuff people tell me is great - which isn't (fuck off La La Land).

Seen none of those , they sound like a long episode of glee . I liked Jersey boys though , not sure if it really counts as a musical.

The worse thing about La La Land was that I really liked Whiplash, and apparently the director only made that to get the financing for La La Land.

I like some musicals and dislike others, I just think La La Land is pure average and crazy overhyped and the best 'musical' part of it is Stone song right at the end.

Took the wife to see A Star is Born with low expectations. Was blown away by Bradley Cooper, was incredible in this.

Nice slow, deliberate paced directing too. Some great shots.

He managed make Gaga both plain and beautiful at the same time. Great grownup movie, worth seeing.

I quite liked La La Land until they undermined the entire thing with a fucking awful ending. Then I wanted to flame torch it, bring it back to life, and flame torch it again.

I tried to watch la la land on a Singapore flight. Didn't make it through the opening credits.

Yeah, it's a big problem when the opening number of a musical is so flat you don't want to carry on and watch anymore.

@dogmeat Was that the number when they were on the freeway and everyone got out of their cars??? Because I remember thinking that was lame. On the whole, most of the musical numbers in La La Land were quite average.

Yeah, it's up there. It's was the wife's choice after a long list of Marvel movies.

@mokey I can barely remember something vaguely psychedelic featuring a VW maybe?

it is the earliest I have ever abandoned a movie and I'm not one that feels my masculinity is threatened by a musical.

Mind you after the last week and given I have never raped or murdered a woman....
