I wonder what Watlings average is when he comes to the crease with us under 150 and is over 300. I reckon he'd have one of the biggest differences in the world.

For whatever reason he really thrives digging us out of holes but isn't as comfortable when we're dominant.

Double century up for Latham. Say what you want about the attack but he has applied himself wonderfully - many quality batsmen played many more tests with similar opportunities and never landed one.

The reverse of Adam Gilchrist who was always up to be the 3rd or 4th century in an innings against a blunted attack but in series like '01 in India or '05 in England when they were up against it had buckleys.

Yep epic innings from Tom, has put us in a very strong position to notch up another test win. Fucking awesome.

    So, best case scenario?

350+ lead by drinks last session tomorrow. 2.5 sessions to roll them? (5th day weather an issue?)

    My maths ...

    I think I meant 2 full days and half a session ..

They need to declare now. 4 sessions left, assuming day 5 is a write off.

Keep grinding, give Latham a chance at 300, try aim to bowl 4-5 overs tonight. If the lead gets to 300 they can attack for a full day without worrying about batting again.

Another wicket, good. Lessens the chance of a draw.

Latham and Patel both have batting high scores. Latham on 245, Patel on 6. Latham just survived a very strong catch appeal. Wonder if they will declare when he reaches 250. Lead is currently 266.

Probably declare around drinks, then have an hour at them tonight and come back fresh tomorrow.

Strange batting from Latham, either massively values the * or 250. Needed to get a bit more aggressive after Southee went if 300 was going to be a chance.

It hardcore amuses me to see our #11 batsman hitting fours. Go Trent.
