This is why I can't bring myself to watch many T20s, let alone fork out money to go to one. Short of a miracle innings this game is effectively over and we are only into the fifth over.

T20's are much more likely to be close than any other format. But I do agree. If it isn't close, it is boring. Test cricket is good to go to no matter what the state of the game - as long as you get a full day.

@hydro11 it's too reliant on the team batting first making a good fist of it. One dayers were faulted for this, but it seems worse in T20s. Pity nobody listened to me when I was suggesting they turn one dayers into four innings games.

There's quite a bit in this pitch. If we can get 130+ that will be competitive.

Conversely teams can easily get back into a game. This is now going to be competitive, after struggling for the first 12 overs.

Good recovery from the Black Caps. At least made a game of it.

The worry with tail wags like that is whether it means our top order just made a dog's breakfast of it, or whether it was genuinely good bowling. Often you see 'recoveries' that still result in 8 or 9 wicket wins.

Take a fucking bow Taylor, Santner, Bracewell, Kuggelijn and Southee.

I nearly turned it off at 30 odd for 4, then again at 54/5.

Fucking Ferguson begins with a leg stump half volley which is promptly sent to the boundary.

Then his second ball is dispatched for 6.

Another great start with the ball....

Need to get some wickets, because otherwise the buffet servings will see this total run down in 14-15 overs at this rate.

Swear to god if we take Southee to the World Cup, its a fuckin' wasted spot.
Not fast enough, not smart enough to mix it up.
    Liability.
    Its a bridge too far.

Ferguson came back well after those first two balls to open the innings. Second over was a thinking over. Nearly created two catch opportunities. And how good is the difference in his slower ball (124km) v. fast over (150km+)

Well they're making short work of this. Def a good toss to win, was doing a bit early in our innings but now the sun has set it's gotten pretty easy.

Will have to bowl well from here.
