Speaking of which, Jesus.H.Christ Westbrook is a head case. I am a Russ guy, although I may not always sound like it. He is a supreme athlete with an axe murderer mentality. He just has a shit basketball IQ. He missed one 3 pt to win the game, Adams does what he does and gets the offensive rebound, immediately sees the open man, Westbrook again (even though PG and Jerami Grant are under the hoop almost unguarded) who again goes for the win and air balls. He could have gone straight back to Steve for the oop but he went for the glory and lost his team the game. So hard to watch.
Adams had some space when he got that offensive board and the defender was rushing out at him. He could've faked him into the rafters and then dribbled once for an easy dunk to tie it, maybe even drawn a foul on a desperate help defender going for the game winning block. Instead he didn't even think of trying to score and found Worstbrick again. Ugh.

It's made all the worse when you consider Russ is shooting 23% from deep this season, taking almost five shots a game. Those are some historically horrible numbers.
That said, I still see OKC causing some problems in the post-season. PG has gone up a level this year - can you believe a team is way better off without Carmelo?

Carmelo is a dinosaur from a bygone age. A mid range iso volume shooter who can't really lock down defend

Adams has a few major failings and one of them is not knowing when to take the reigns. The other is not just dunking when hes close to the hoop. It's great that he has this really subtle touch around the basket and all. But if he were to take a page out of Clint Capela's book and just dunk everything he'd be a high teens scorer immediately.

Did you catch the end of the first overtime. That seemed like a pretty good dunk with a sore ankle.

Spurs were 14/14 from 3 point land at one stage ended 16/19.
Double overtime.Really hurt have Noel out as Steven got injured and they got smoked for size (I only saw the end of the last quarter and 2 x OT)

Westbrook is shooting at 14% beyond the arc this season but kept throwing up three attempts in OT when the sensible play was a higher percentage two. I didn't see the last few seconds as it appeared to be over so don't know if he got any more shots off but think the had something like one point in the last ten minutes of the game or something like that. He should have fed Grant and George more in those final stages.

Watched the Warriors demolish the Nuggets yesterday in Denver. And now they've got Boogie coming in on Friday.
For all of the interesting ins and outs of this season, it seems to me the gap is as large as it's ever been. They will likely face challenges in the playoffs, but is there a realistic chance of anyone beating them in a 7 game series?
Injuries seem the only obstacle, or maybe a transcendent Harden and a healthy Chris Paul/Clint Capela.

Adams got shown a bit by the young fella. Still put up solid numbers, but yeah he needed to shoot. His jelly to the rim from an alien to him perimeter position shows you what he has in his bag if he trusts himself. Too little too late. His pick and roll defence has gotten worse as his career has gone on. He got schooled on 3 consecutive and identical plays.

The young Lakers and Lance Stephenson struggling to hold off the Houston Rockets late in the 4th quarter. I've heard a lot about it but having watched the entire second half it is not unfair to say that Harden is a cheating bastard who gets calls that everyone else doesn't get. He initiates contact more times than most, gets away with MJ on Bryon Russell style push offs. I can't possibly support them at any time, even against the dubs

So, it's pretty obvious Harden is an unreal scorer. He makes putting up huge numbers look almost mundane. He scores from step back 3s like it ain't nothing.
He's on a points scoring streak of the likes that hasn't been seen since Wilt. It seems like something that should be celebrated. And yet...
There is constant chatter, on TV and online, about how he's actually a bit shit to watch. Fans straight up hate the fouls he gets (canefan's post is almost word for word what you can read on any forum). You watch the Rockets play, and it's effectively 4 guys on court watching one dude dribble the ball and then try something. I heard that none of his points v the Knicks were assisted? Obviously he's having to do it all while CP is out, but this is ridiculous. His teammates are so scared of touching the ball they gave up a basket on an inbound because the dude didn't want to catch the ball.
He's jacking up massive numbers, but they are still only 5-5 in their last 10, and sit 5th. Their game style also doesn't look sustainable, especially in the playoffs (and yet this is the team that did everything but knock off the Warriors just last season).
So the question is, is James Harden's current run something that should be celebrated more than it is?
