I really enjoyed the new Mary Poppins movie. The original was one I grew up with, and this new one hit the beats perfectly. Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel-Miranda were both excellent, too.
Not sure how it would go down if you weren't familiar with the original though.
All I know is nieces 5 & 8 liked it.

I quite like musicals in the theatre but struggle with them on film. This seemed to have so many songs that I was drifting out for long stretches.
Thought Blunt was fine, Manuel-Miranda was a bit unintentionally creepy at times but then so was Van Dyke in the original, speaking of him his cameo was good. Surprised there was no cameo from Julie Andrews though.
