I remember watching that episode and thinking what the fuck!

Bears are farking massive, I know when I went to a UK Zoo and seeing the Brown bears they had and thinking they were bigger than I thought they were, Polars Bears are bigger again (recorded upto 1500 pounds)

The third video in this is great. Miss Iron Fire is clearly used to getting adult requests for videos ...

These were the instructions they sent:

Not sure where else to put this but it is awesome and I did see it on the internet

For those that didn't manage to catch PZ474 doing it's trial flights (see https://www.facebook.com/150073775005366/videos/390294005071191/ )

here is one last chance (static only) to see this beautifully restored machine in NZ. There are only 4 airworthy Mossies in the world (3 have been restored at Ardmore with 1 more on the way)
I was lucky enough to climb up and get a cockpit look at the last on Avspecs restored.
Quite amazing that the Brits do not have an airworthy version for use during displays and commemorations. No official channels have supported a restoration, however a fundraising group have been working slowly for years trying to get a project completed. They did have a restoration happening in NZ (wings and frame) and have now taken the project back to the UK and hope to complete within the next 4 years.
One of the issues is that, quite incredibly, there are no full OEM specs available for rebuilders and much is 'best guess'. This means that only 'Experimental' airworthy certificates are issued and flights must be at shows only.

Anyway, if you are interested in viewing she is on display at the Warbirds hanger alongside all the usual weekend display machines.
    Here is the blurb....

    A really special treat - a FINAL FAREWELL 🖐
PZ474 Mosquito will be exclusively on display to the public, with special thanks to Avspecs, inside NZ Warbirds at Ardmore hangar for this coming long weekend only.
    Saturday 26th January
    Sunday 27th January
    AND MONDAY 28 January
(We will be opening on Monday as its Auckland Anniversary weekend)
Come and say goodbye to her and get some great photographs to treasure before she's containerised and sent to the States. She will not be flying again here in NZ.
    10:30am to 3:00pm
    Harvard Lane
    Ardmore Airfield
    Near Papakura 2244
    Adults $15:00
    School age: $5.00
    Pre-school: Free

@jegga that would be awesome, still hoping they go ahead with some of those cool plans that included heaps of planting/green space.

@Crucial My favourite WW2 plane. Awesome beast. Friend of mine flew the first restored one. Had a bit of fun when they first put it together and lost airspeed indication on maiden flight (not cool). His first thought was "only flying Mosquito on the planet and I'm going to crash it first time out".

Fortunately had a photography plane with them and got him to fly at required approach speeds and matched it wing tip to wing tip. Went into AKL intnl with the longer runway than Ardmore.

@jegga Yeah, the whole design concept for the Mosssie and Hornet amuses me.

"What ho chaps, need a new plane. Quite like those Merlin things but think that 2 is better than one so lets do that. Power to weight ratio seems to work and this is already grossly overpowered but Merlins are heavy so how do we keep the weight down?"

Voice from back of room -"make it out of wood".

    Gales of laughter.
