I wish there was a 3 test tour somewhere in here instead of just hit and giggle fest. But I guess the NZ board decided to prioritize LOI cricket and the $$$ bonanza instead.
@newsjunkie Yeah - I'd be less bullish if your guys had Bumrah, especially.
But we were competitive against you in India a year ago, when you had Bumrah and Pandya, so I reckon at home we've got a pretty reasonable chance!
However, the game is not played on paper...

@Chris-B Fair point. I'm hoping for a closely fought series as well. Better prep for the WC.
I wouldn't even mind if the Indian team got beat here, will expose the weak links in the team tactics nicely.

If that was true we wouldn't have T20's starting at 8PM and ODI's starting at 3PM.

First off, those are 'prime time' slots for sports on TV in most countries. Where I live, in Trumpistan, 8 pm is the golden slot for any sporting event. Highly sought after, and generate maximum TV revenue.
Secondly, even if those times were somehow chosen for maximum Indian TV ratings, did you consider the possibility that it would be the TV and Ad companies that bid for the rights to broadcast the games in India that probably asked the NZ board to select such timings?
The BCCI can be blamed for many things, but caring for their fans and using their clout for the same isn't one of them.
But why ruin a good whinge on the evil BCCI with silly things such as facts.

@Gunner Guppy deserved to be out twice in that innings...and he's coming off a (I think) golden duck in domestic T20.

Not that much.
Pretty disappointing, because he should have been jump started into good form.
Two awful shots in his brief innings today - well, one was non-shot and the other was nowhere near playing the line of the ball.

Can't have Kanos and Rosco "respecting" VijayShankar for a 1 run over like this damn it. This is 4d chess. Not fair. He shouldn't be anywhere near the Indian team.
