The Welsh shouldn't apologise for taking the chances offered. The French should apologise to their fans.

Nah, they should apologise for needing to rely on brain explosions to win.

France won the first half comfortably
We won the second, and the match
      Terrible game management from France
      They bottled it
Must have been on the Gitanes and Cognac at half-time

Credit to the Welsh side and Welsh coaching team for that. They were poor in the first half and had some poor decisions from Barnes go against them, but stuck at it. They waiting for their chances and took them.

Dreadful, dreadful passing and game management from the French backline before North's intercept. Rather than spending millions of Euros on paying pensions for ex-All Blacks, shouldn't Rugby France be spending some resources on coaching their backline how to pass?

Again, how the fuck are Wales #3 in the world? They've created fucking nothing in this game, and got some outrageous luck.

I've got a real problem with the first Welsh try. Yes the French defenders clocked off, but the Welsh runner ran behind not only his own players, but also the ruck and the ref. That's not right.

Barnes has done the Welsh a couple of pretty big favours too.

Look, credit for the win in shit conditions against a committed but limited French team, but that was an ordinary performance.

??? Barnes disallowed two Welsh tries and let the French live offside for a lot of that second half. I'm no fan at all of how he attempts to control and game and make himself the centre of attention, but the French can't blame Calamity Barnes for their defeat last night.

Offside was the same both ways. The sooner WR work out how to police such a key facet of the game the better. Barnes is one of the supposed top refs yet if his management of the offside line is a portent of this RWC year we will see every team taking the piss.
The disallowed try for blocking was a good call. The end on shot makes it very obvious how Picamoles wasn't allowed to even attempt to stop the run.

Jonny May scores a try after two minutes for England against Ireland after a Tuigali break. First English try in Dublin for 8 years.

Ireland very, very lucky that a Mako Vunipola try was eventually ruled out after lots of replays. A bit of hometown from the officials.

A Farrell penalty instead. 10-17 at the break. England well worth the lead.

Hometown refereeing keeping Ireland in the game. Still feel that the Irish will steal it but wouldn't it be great to see them lose.

Massive second half coming. Ireland need to justify all the hype about being World Cup favourites and better than the All Blacks. The All Blacks have come back from this sort of situation many, many times.

Equally massive chance for Owen Farrell to show he's become a World Class 10, to keep the scoreboard ticking over and to lead his side home.

According to ESPN stats, Mako Vunipola has made 18 tackles in 50 minutes and missed none.

Ireland have only conceded the one penalty. They get the rub of the green with the refs.

                                      Ireland 13 England 17.

Itoje off. England have a back row player, Wilson at Lock. Advantage Ireland now I suspect.

Just watching the last half hour at the moment. Lots of effort, lots of physicality, but not high skill levels from either side. Ireland grinding grinding grinding - yo'd think a try wins this.

Also Farrell - bad miss. Unexpected.
