I think this game shows that we need a genuine third seamer and that neither de Grandhomme nor Neesham are up to that role. Neesham might be a fifth opinion, especially if there is a sixth (Kane or Munro the obvious candidates).

Neesh has his eye in. Long way to go but he's really shown his value with the bat this year.

Good chance for Santner to step up in a pressure situation. Just needs to nurdle it around at the moment.

That's an absurd way to get out. Gezz.

That about sums up the "mental strength" of recent Black Caps performances nicely.

    Thick as pig shit.

Did Neesh get confused by the bowler shouting yes as part of the appeal? Trying to find an explanation for that. Just bizarre.

    Circus McGurkus!

Fuck Jimmy. You'd look like a clown getting out like that in Presidents grade! 🙂

Our top 4’s collective failures have cost us this series.
We can’t rely on our all rounders to bat 25 or 30 overs to win games.

We're pretty much done now. These two just need to aim for 4-5 an over in the meantime and then see how close they can get, with the possibility of some tinny shots at the end.

Astle looks bloody solid. Nice to have a long batting order

Santner needs to keep his head.

Sweep was not a great option there, he was going well playing it straight. Still, can't expect much from the tail end.

Frustrating as this was an easily winnable game if our batsmen just played within themselves.

If getting 10 is looking solid I think we need to set our sights a bit higher.

That sums it up. A gentle half volley on leg stump and Santner chips a catch. We've thrown this game away with stupidity.

I think that's the most disappointing result of the series. First three games we were outplayed across the park. Fair play India. But this one we just threw it away with a series of ridiculous dismissals when there was no RR pressure at all. We showed a lack of mental strength that makes me think we'll be very lucky to go deep at the CWC.

    Men against boys.

Our batsmen need to give themselves a collective uppercut for this series effort.

Mostly Little Kane. What the fuck was he thinking?!!

Neesham's was just a contribution to the "Cricket Fails" video.

We've been very soft as a batting unit in this series.
