@Canes4life big loss for the Canes,I rate this guy especially when it’s come the physical stakes, has real ability to offload and hold players up in the tackle .

@Steven-Harris yeah big loss! Could be a long year for the Canes. I wonder who they will bring in to replace him? Parsons from Hawkes Bay maybe?

@Canes4life it’s a shame someone like Hemapo is not part of the Canes given he plays for the Turbos..not to sure on Parsons but if he’s the next cab off the Rack development team wise, I guess that’s probably where they will go..if Olmstead was not part of the Blues that’s where I would have been heading ..
Can remember one of the steamers locks really impressing me during Mitre 10 Cup..just can’t remember his 2nd name..PI name,
    Maybe Laupepe..?

Waratahs stick with head coach Daryl Gibson

Waratahs stick with head coach Daryl Gibson

Daryl Gibson is set to extend his stay in Sydney after signing a contract extension with the Waratahs ahead of their season-opener against the Hurricanes this weekend.

Tom Parsons had a great season for the Magpies and was unlucky to miss out on a spot in a SR squad this year. He's very experienced at NPC level. He'd probably adjust faster to SR level than Liam Mitchell, who is already in the squad and has only played 14 NPC games.

It's also possible that they're looking at either U20s players (not necessarily from the Canes), or old SR players who didn't get a new contract, like Alex Ainley or Joey Wheeler (if he's not returning to Japan).

Or they'll move Fifita back to the second row.

@Steven-Harris Sounds like the lock who went from Wellington to BOP. Had a couple of good games, IIRC.

Is Lemalu available? Went quite well for Auckland, and is good in the tight stuff (esp. mauls).

Tucker is injury cover at the Blues, but might be available soon.

The deal to which everyone has agreed is that those All Blacks who toured Europe in November can't play any pre-season games, they can't play more than five games consecutively, need to miss a minimum of two games in the campaign and when they are sitting out, they shouldn't train with the squad or be involved in the strategical planning.

Fucking made me Google "strategical". Apparently a valid word.

Can’t play 5 consecutive games? That’s atleast 3 missed games. The ones missing the first weeks could be missing 5+ let alone their games they half ass

@Yeahtheboys yeah I thought once they'd thrown that in, the rule for missing two games becomes a bit redundant.

Do Ryan Crotty and SBW's injury breaks count? Or do they get double time off?
