Doesn't change the fact that it is stupidly early for a football code to start. There should still be test match cricket on.
I always remember the post @Dodge made about the footy season starting in England where he found it a little depressing as it meant Summer was about to end.
That kind of struck a chord with me.
Living in Qld I love the footy season starting because it means summer is coming to end.
Especially on days like this. Will be even worse tomorrow!

I would be disappointed if we (Highlanders) didn't win the game. Looking at conference chiefs look to have most holes of any NZ team. Watched both Highlanders preseason and am concerned about two things, ability to create space on attack and missed first up tackles. In saying that hopefully having all frontline players in team will help.

I have no idea whether the Chiefs have been keeping their powder dry pre-season or whether that is the best they have given that the ABs may not be up to speed. -

@Bones Nah Jackson seems like he's always been tougher on the Chiefs so he can try to not show bias. At least I always thought so.

Agree with @Yeetyaah about Jackson. Get's muddled in 50/50 calls involving the Chiefs (actually tbf he gets muddled in calls full stop at times)
As for 'keeping powder dry' my only early season hope is that the AB contingent have been training and plotting to hit the ground running and Cooper is making very little noise about it on purpose.
Can't really see it happening though. If previous RWC years are anything to go by the ABs will build into the season slowly. -
