Although I'm not sure how The Americans jumped into the conversation ;), I think it's a great show, Keri Russell milf-ness aside. The second series is awesome.

SOA finale...very ending, not surprising if you have paid attention, even if a bit cowardly, but execution? Did they give to a standard 3 rural school with no internet connection to complete? 
All in all, probably happier than I was with Dexter finale, which I rate as highly (my top ten ever, both pushing top five) even if I woulda done it differently, which is probably why Sutter has made a few dollars from TV series vs my $0....

I've been happy with a bunch of finales from shows in or near my top 10. I liked the Lost final season, I really liked The Shield's final season and finale, I even thought Deadwood tied up enough to be an ending (I watched it late so knew that it was ending which may have influenced my thoughts), I liked the final season of The West Wing (in large part due to Nero too), I liked the final Sopranos. 
 
We must have slightly different tastes - SOA doesn't get near my top 10 and I've only watched two episodes of Dexter.
 
By the way, they're releasing The Wire in HD (16:9), which might help you find it more watchable as it might not look so dated without the black bars on the side. :)
 
Regarding the execution - I think what Sutter lacked this year was some boundaries, I think the final season could have been much better if they had a decent editor and the episodes came in around 40-50 minutes. It would have got rid of lots of the drag.

Another spy drama show which is on now,thats about it really. Also Russell is hotter than Danes.

I was a tad drunk when I posted last night, reasonably coherent Though.... 
I tend to group tv rather than rank them; 
Must watch ASAP then Really enjoy and will watch asap and then time fillers 
Although the first 2 categories i have some that are finished, I guess the other thing about a show like SOA, I emjoy it, could probably leave it until the end and watch over a week, but so many people I know watch it and want to talk about it, and it is good to discuss theories and the like

Jax gave her that blanket in an earlier episode. It was also established that she is actually dead (having died as collateral damage when JT killed himself)
 
When she gives him back the blanket she is saying she doesn't need to hang around any longer knowing that Jax has now got everything sorted. She's meant to be some kind of guardian angel.

Some of my watch ASAP shows aren't shows that would be in my top rank. I generally watch Agents of Shield straight away yet it's just popcorn TV for me (I do like Chloe Bennett ...). I probably kept up with SOA because of this thread. Some shows I like watching in a row too so I'll leave them until I've got a whole season and then watch one a day.

Have you read this or is it a theory? Did JT definitely commit suicide or is that still up in the air?

I have other series that I watch, and enjoy (some more than others) but dont comment on here, some of them are hit and miss, then others I gave up on (like True Blood after season 2, Downton Abbey after S3 I think it was?) 
 
SOA - I recall interaction with her in another episode/s, but didnt someone other than Jax also see her though??

I just finished watching Halt and Catch Fire which was pretty decent. It's about some people who set out to build a portable computer in the 1980s. 
 
I'm not sure the title was the best marketing plan, it's almost as bad as Terriers as a title to encourage viewers to watch. The computer nerds amongst you might know that it stands for HCF but I kept thinking it was a Denzel type Man on Fire in my head so kept putting off watching it.

Finished S2 of The Fall.
 
Enjoyed it, although the finale was totally underwhelming, just seemed too, well, blah. Seemed like it was setting us up for a final twist or revelation, and in the end, it followed what you could see happening.
 
Dana Scully is still hot though.

watched the three seasons of the "Almighty Johnsons" on Canada Netflix over the xmas break with the amount of drinking on that show felt like I had a sober Christmas

There were also then discussions that implied that JT may have been looking to take himself out of the picture anyway. Made the whole thing a grey area. Clay and Gemma did plot to get him and thought they did, but he may have done it himself.
 
I think the whole homeless woman thing was Sutter's nod to this being his take on a Shakespearean like tragedy. Shakespeare did like his ghosts/spirits and plot devices
