I’d take Kirwan or Jed over the dumpster fire that was Tana’s reign. Look at the stats thread, demonstrably the worst coach we’ve ever had. I lost count of the records, but the one that stands out is the 60point loss on Eden Park.

What did he percentage end up against Kiwi teams? 5%?

I'm looking forward to this season - either the Blues do great and Leon is a genius or they are terrible and it's all the defence coach's fault.

Leon pretty much has a free pass this year, because he didn't select most of the squad. Still a few Tana stinkers to flush out (Pulu, Collins, etc). Still hoping to at least see some organisation in how the team plays, but they didn't sack Tana early enough to realistically affect this years results.

Leon only has to beat two NZ teams to double Tana's success rate again NZ teams over three years. Two!

@Duluth Seems like James Tucker is either injured or someone called him up(Canes?).

Parsons said that Scrafton will play 40 this week, 60 next week and 80 the week after that, then hopefully be available for the Sunwolves game.

          Watching the A game

I think it was Levi that fell off a tackle and the Canes went 80m for a try

Olmstead and Choat busy on defence early

Blues conceding a few early penalties. Canes in good position because of that

Some basic missed tackles, then the Canes score down the left wing again

              Blues score. Tele’a? Aoake?

Good powerful work from Ahokovi in the build up

                Ahokovi Is good

Great fend to make a break and then swerved to beat the fullback

                Another Blues try

Choat with a half break off the back of a lineout. Olmstead held up over the line a couple of phase later.

Messy work off the base of the scrum then the Blues 12 scores from the loose ball

Scrafton getting more prominent as the half goes on

Blues on attack then opposition 12 intercepts 12s pass and the Canes are in again

Olmstead getting fired up after a shitty refs call. Wins a turnover pen at the next phase

Canes in again. Rayasi with the last pass

He’s looked good from what I can see.. his plays have mostly been at the far end of the field from me

                          Lots of subs already.

Scrafton just played the first 40

Lewis G with a 30m break from his own try line.

                            Lots of scrappy play now

Strong cross wind is affecting passing

Games gone flat after the reserves.

blues maul held up just short of the line

Kirkpatrick has been ok. Tidying up others mistakes

Olmstead and Choat the pick of the forwards

                                Impressed with Tele’a and Ahokovi

Kirkpatrick gives the last pass for Levi who barges over in the corner

Coventry on the sideline yelling at him to go under the posts. He doesn’t. Coventry is grumpy with that

Good defence late in the game from the Blues. Multiple phases 5m out

                                      Canes 12 gets over eventually

No idea what the score is
