One of the truly immoral classics.

Not much discussion in this thread but alot of people posting new music and having their posts completely ignored. I guess when you get to our age you get a bit set in your ways when it comes to music.

i am proudly set in my ways. I am more likely to either find an old band i missed, or one i had forgotten about, and listen to that, than find a new band altogether. I am who i am, and I'm completely comfortable in that.

Always been a fan since I handed a friend a giftcard and asked her to get me an album while she was out shopping. She came back with their debut studio album.

More than just a great arse and a pretty face.

I am too. I guess what I'm saying is I'm not likely to click on something I don't know but if someone puts up an old tune I haven't heard for ages I'm on there like flies on shit.

I found Prisoner of Society less appealing than "From Here On In"

Went to Eminem at the Caketin tonight. Massive gig, he's still got it. Good mix of new and old, although you know you are always going to get a medley type set from a rapper. He had some good support acts, include Hilltop Hoods from Adelaide. Also had a primo female vocalist who was excellent.

Holy shit a lot of young people still smoke ciggies, and the weed was flowing also!! Can't recall the last time I came home from a night out smelling like smoke. Don't miss it at all. Ha, def an old man!!

my folks offered me a free ticket to this. Their neighbours couldn't go or something.

I've never heard of him and I'm glad I didn't judging by this. I've heard better buskers on Cuba Street.

"Roger Waters, when asked by Word Magazine in 2008 if he heard Pink Floyd's influence in newer British bands like Radiohead, replied, "I don't really listen to Radiohead. I listened to the albums and they just didn't move me in the way, say, John Prine does. His is just extraordinarily eloquent music—and he lives on that plane with Neil Young and Lennon."[19]

"In 2009, Bob Dylan told The Huffington Post that Prine was one of his favorite writers, stating "Prine's stuff is pure Proustian existentialism. Midwestern mindtrips to the nth degree. And he writes beautiful songs. I remember when Kris Kristofferson first brought him on the scene. 'Sam Stone' featuring the wonderfully evocative line: 'There’s a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes, and Jesus Christ died for nothing I suppose.'[16] All that stuff about "Sam Stone," the soldier junkie daddy, and "Donald and Lydia", where people make love from ten miles away. Nobody but Prine could write like that."[17]"

You can pluck any quote from a famous artist to try and reinforce your point. I still stand by mine. Music is as we all know very subjective and I find most people warbling on an acoustic guitar quite unlistenable much in the same way I despise Bob Dylan. Even before he said 'Proustian existentialism'....yeah piss off Bob you condescending old shitcunt.

'oh but he's such an amazing songwriter, he's the voice of a generation'

Well fucken sing a catchy song we enjoy listening to then fluffybunny....
