Haven't seen American Sniper yet. Honestly is it as anti Arab as it's being made out to be?

Nope. It's not pro or anti war either. The coverage of this film has been bizarre.
-

I didn't think so, and it's nowhere near as anti Arab as Kyle comes across in his book.

I don't remember him being anti Arab so much but he loathed the people he was fighting against and referred to them as animals. My memory could be wrong but anyone who tortures people with a cordless drill is an animal. The film did gloss over some of the more obnoxious qualities of Kyle that come through in the book. I thought the movie was very good.

Also Sienna Miller looked hot/dirty with dark hair. -

all about perspective I guess...I felt it was more 'Team America' than say Zero Dark Thirty

He's pretty anti them as opposed to Arab as a group. But he barely distinguishes between the civilians and the fighters.

TBH, I find the book bloody interesting (especially the sniper focused stuff, equipment and tactics etc), but his lack of awareness or understanding of why people would fight them seems bloody stupid. Luttrell at least understood why they had enemies. To Kyle every American is good (except for the anti war poofters) and every enemy is evil.

Did Kyle actually see the cordless drill? I haven't come across it yet. I've got about 100 pages to go and the worst he's discussed so far is the two mentally ill guys who were up on hooks.

What is funny is how he basically whinges about everyone. From the yankee stuff to the brass to calling out the Arkansas National Guard as hillbillies - as if they're worse than rednecks.

I remember the first time I saw Sienna Miller, it was in a show about a detective from the US who goes to the UK. She was lying the couch and the camera basically focused on her ass.

I think the action/military stuff of the movie compared favourably with Generation Kill.
-
The show was called fast Eddie , I thought it was great mostly because of her.

Don't remember the cordless drill in the book , I thought he liked the Arkansas national guard blokes? I might have to read it again , he joked about their accents but I recall. He also seemed to really rate the polish special forces that were over there too or maybe just their vodka. -

Fast Eddie - thats it. I thought it was a really good show, she was the icing on top of the cake. It didn't last very long though.

Yeah, he liked the hillbillies, but still differentiated how hillbillies were worse than Texas rednecks. The Poles may have been the only group he didn't give any stick to.
-
I think you'll enjoy no easy day, he talks about how they went from storming houses with flash bangs and gunfights to sneaking in and picking locks with much less hassle and trouble for themselves . He's not a fan of Obama but I think pretty much every branch of the armed forces and police vote republican .

John Wick, 10/10 for what it aimed for. Instant cult classic :)

Saw this the other night and I totally agree. Coolest movie I've seen in a while.
-

Birdman - Really really good, lived up to the hype for me. The first 40 - 60 minutes was laugh out loud funny and the remainder was really good drama. It wasn't what I expected it to be either. Keaton was really good, so was Norton, it also had Naomi Watts and Emma Stone (who looked really really pale) who were both good and the annoying bearded guy from The Hangover who was great in a straighter role.

I'm looking forward to seeing John Wick when it comes out on Blueray/DVD.
